Champions Online:
Game - $50 - buggy and little content
Subsciption Fee - $16.49 - pays for bug fixes that shouldnt be there, nerfs and new gameplay mechanics that should have been there for launch
$? - small expansion packs that should be free
Item Shop - Constumes, name changes, etc.
DDO Online:
Game - FREE - more content and less bugs
Sub Fee - NONE or $15 a month to get ALL content as well as ALL new little adventure packs. Sub fee also gets you 500 points a month to spend in item shop
Item Shop - If you dont pay Sub then you can buy all content here for less then champions online costs box
Im sorry but Turbine will get my money from now on as they know how to make a customer not feel like hes getting ripped off.

maybe this should be sent as certified mail directly to cryptics business P.O.BOX or P.R. contact.

I think Cryptic definitely needs to review their business model with Champions Online. DDO is a different game altogether. You shouldn't play it just because of the costs (or lack thereof), but I think that Turbine has really thought about their revenue system more thoroughly. Emmert should give Paiz a call for some advice, I think.

What I love about this comparison is that you arnt comparing CO to WoW which has a huge subscriber base or some other successful game.
By industry standards your comparing CO to a failure and that failure is making CO look bad.
Skijit Lols at CO for 2500 ego damage

Not that I am defending the recent actions of Cryptic, but DDO is worthless to me and I would not play it if they made the whole thing free.
ME2 on the otherhand, that makes CO look overpriced.

Sorry we forgot a couple more subscription.
Time DDO has been out, 4 years.
Time DDO has been free to play, roughly 4 months
Time Champions has been out, Roughly 4 months.

Comparing a medieval times MMO to a Super-Hero based MMO is like comparing water to Oil, they just don't mix. Why you compare such games is out of question and ignorant, if you don't like the way Champions Online is structured then i suggest you take your opinions elsewhere and complain on DDO's forums. Such indecorous behavior will probably result in a lock. Honestly, Champions Online is perfectly fine, there are bugs and exploits here and there, but with programming comes BUGS, BUGS are hard to asset and fix. So, unless you are an experienced programmer, then i suggest you withdrawal.

i was only comparing the costs associated with these games not the themes of the games.
Do you honestly think that because champions online is a superhero MMO that it should cost ALOT more then a "Medieval" MMO

If the only comparison is on price, and not the game itself, then why not compare it to a completely free flash game that you can play online? Or maybe a game that has been out for several years, and is now available for only several dollars in a bargain bin somewhere? Or best of all, a game that you've already paid for, and can play as much as you want without further payment?
