I think that the devs need to release the character creator as a standalone program. There have been more than a few times when I couldn't log into champions for various reasons but could have been working on new costumes. It wouldn't even have to access your profile at all, just the costume templates that you've saved. When you are done designing a costume you could just save it as a template and load it in champions the next time you are able to log in. Also, this could be either only for champions subscribers or open to anyone to help boost game sales. If people could create a character and see how in-depth the creation system is, they might buy the game.
I feel that this would be a very cool move by Cryptic and it would help for the times when we can't log into champions.

it would only gives every comic company a reason to close this game perminately, not a problem right......

I fail to see how letting us make costumes while not logged in would be any different. The people who are going to make clones of comic book heroes are going to do it whether they are logged in or not. If they are worried about people who don't own the game making clones (even though they wouldn't be able to use them for anything without owning the game) they should just release it for people who have subscriptions. It would be the same thing we do at the tailor, you just wouldn't have to be logged in. This way if the champions servers are down or if your internet connection goes down, you can still make costumes to put on your characters when you can log in next.
While I don't agree with your viewpoint I invite everyone to discuss their ideas and thoughts on this matter.

i can look it up for you, the time when cryptic had to agree never to create a stand alone character creator, and the fact that if they do, they ether have to pay a huge amount of money or close the game perminately untill the characters that are copyrighted are removed.
the one that does exist of COX is banned from the internet and may only be used in asia, for the ones who do already have it.
it's not about how handy it is or how you see it, cryptic is watched closely for every wrong move they do.
and releasing a stand alone craracter creator is devenately one of these wrong moves, regardless of how you or anyone els thinks about.

This is a very good idea. And as far as the comment about having to shut the game down because of legal reasons, that would be like saying that they have to shut down all paper production becuause I might draw a picture of Batman on some paper and the manufacturer might get sued for it.

Maybe they should just fix the servers so you can log in more reliably.
But yes, an offline creator would be nice. All they need to do is let you start the game, but not log-in until you hit PLAY after selecting or creating a character.

they're still making money of it, by using the creator they can advertice there game, thus making more money.
so like i said, they can't make one regardless of how you think about it.

The only difference with a standalone, is that people won't be able to transfer the chartacter ingame. Let me repeat that. The Only Difference with a standalone, is that people won't be able to Transfer the character ingame. Note the caps placed there for your convience.
We aren't arguing for the creation of a program that allows you to create copywritten characters...Cryptic allready sells and gains advertisement by this. The program exists now.
You are arguing a distinction where none exists. You seem to think this is supported by something Cryptic has said. Can you provide reference to this? I'm still going to think its an argument about as valid as banning pens because some people will use them to draw copywritten characters, but if this is Cryptic's official stance on things then its a moot point to discuss.
