FYI, I don't know if you guys test anything with ATi cards, but the last 3 official certified driver builds post a warning for me on 2 seperate rigs before I start the game.
The warning says that the drivers are outdated, when in fact, they are up to date.
And by the way, the game runs absolutely flawless, looks amazing, and the frames are consistently near or over 100 with everything maxed for me , even in Lemuria.

... so I'm not worried so much about the error message, as much as I am about Cryptic forgetting us ATi users.
XP64
Phenom 9950
8gb ram
Radeon 5870 w/ 9.12 catalysts
24" 1920x1200
and
XP64
Phenom II 955
4gb ram
Radeon 5970 w/ 9.12 catalysts(hotfix) *okay, this isn't a certified driver, but it fixed an issue I had.
24" 1920x1200
..............
Also note, I don't want to mislead anyone. I am using unofficial HOTFIX drivers on the 2nd rig that were released 6 hours after the 9.12's came out for no reason related to CO's gameplay, but another game that I play.

I'm on quite a puny Mobility Radeon X1600 and everything seems to be running perfectly for me (touch wood). No error messages, nothing about outdated drivers, smooth gameplay on Recommended settings.

I wonder if XP64 has anything to do with t then. XP64 is rock stable for me, and I love it, and a ton of people use it.. however it still takes a backseat as far as support from games.

64-bit XP is likely the issue. It never was a commonly used operating system, at least for gamers, and anyone who doesn't already have it won't likely get it in the future. For example, the Steam Hardware Survey says 32-bit XP users outnumber 64-bit by more than 100:1. In contrast, Windows 7 users predominantly use the 64-bit version.
From AMD's side, when trying to get drivers out the door for a bunch of new cards with a bunch of major new features (DirectX 11, OpenCL, Eyefinity, etc.), an old operating system that never was commonly used and is being phased out probably isn't the highest priority. If the game runs just fine, though, that's what matters.

Okay, I am seeing the same message on Vista 64 and win7 64 now.
I don't believe it has anything to do with XP64, however it might be a 64 bit thing and the last 2 official driver releases.
edit. All windows installs are geniune as well.
Again, everything is working fine. This is more a FYI for the devs.

My ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 is this driver version: 8.561.0.0
Also, it might be worth knowing that I am running on Windows 7.

Weird. I'm running a Radeon HD 5850 with Catalyst 9.12 on 64-bit Windows 7 and not getting any driver warning. A 5850 isn't quite the same as a 5870, but it's close enough that I don't think that would be the difference.

You're probably using a beta version. Go to ATI's site and get the official 9.12 release.
