Ever since closed beta they've talked about having a cash-shop for the game.

Makes sense to have one available incase people would want to use one.

No, they said that there would be in-game ways to earn any future items from the Cryptic store that would have in game effects. [Edit: Until I was corrected below, I thought that] They never said publicly that we would have an in-game way to earn Cryptic points themselves.

Have to correct you on that last part, iso. Here's a quote from the Cryptic Points page:

I guess it's just another thing on the to-do list.
