# 1 "Counts as an Energy Form"

Could someone clarify what this means, for me?

Say I have a toon that has taken Shadow Form (a slotted passive), which counts as an energy form.

Now, the ability Shadow Shroud (a click power) also counts as an energy form.

Do the powers of these two stack?

Does one overwrite the other?

Are there specific things that happen when you have an energy form active, other than those listed for a particular power?

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. :)

Certain powers have special effects when you have an energy form active. Force Cascade, for example, costs significantly less endurance to charge when you have an energy form active, but afterwords it disables the form for a short period of time. Having both a slotted passive and a click that give energy forms active at one time will still count as just one energy form, but you do get the listed effects of both powers.

Also, some powers like Gigabolt have a large alpha-strike when charged. However in order to charge you must have an energy form active. Your slotted passive does not activate as an energy form until you are in combat. However you can activate you energy form buff and it will allow you to perform the alpha-strike.

Easy answer:

http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Energy_form

Lists everything that gives you an energy form, and everything (all two things atm) that use it. Though some things interact in other ways.

I'm now reading that being in Shadow Form prevents any other power that counts as an energy form from activating. Is this correct?

If so, it seems to directly contradict previous assertions that they stack?

Ok a little misunderstanding thenl. There are two kinds of energy forms or ways of getting one. There is the buff ones and the slotted ones. You can only have one slotted at any time and they dont go off til combat. On top of that you can only have one buff one active at any given time too, if you activate another energyform buff, the first goes away. Now the two different ones do stack, but not always in obvious ways.

Energy forms stack just fine. There are specific ones that do stack. Namely the Incisive Wit advantage on Kinetic Darts no longer stacks with other energy forms.

But the energy form from Ego Surge still does?

As far as I know, yes. The deal with incisive with is it let you effectively have both shadow form's damage increase AND ego form's damage increase active at all times, effectively giving you two strong offensive passives, which you could then stack another temporary buff (like ego surge) onto.
