I actually built this toon off of my original PnP Champions character from back in the 80's. I originally had a gadget pool to explain all of my powers. Hence, the sword a gadget, the smoke bombs a gadget, and I had a lasso to explain my swing and snare abilities. I opted for acrobatics, because, that was more what I had in mind, however the game mechanics did not allow this movement. (way back when) It is also much more user friendly.
Some might question pistols as being thematic. Why not? The toon utilized tech to thier best ability, pop a silencer on, and its stealthy, and fairly practical in a jam. They also make for a good synergy in game. With killer instinct and acc met, I can fire at will. (I should also point to the legendary Phantom from old school pulp comics. His weapon of choice was the pistols. He aslo used mind control techniques, which is my placate, and well CoPD, you could say.)
Up close, the sword is very handy, with laser knight, I'm not nearly so squishy, and with swallowtail and dragons bite, I deal very fast damage. Bosses go down with ease.
As you can see from my stat selection, I'm not a min/maxxer. I like to spread out my abilities. Every stat has its own use. Thats why I also use high def item enhancements. I don't worry about maxxing out a particuliar stat, and I swear by 100% perception bonus and 50% crushing resistance items. That is also why I opted away from LR. I find regen to be much more user friendly, and my defenses are layered. My ultimate defense of course is mobility. Hence the skill vapor form. It is the ultimate shadow ability.

Whether or not I will retcon into Lightning Reflexes. I keep hearing that it is the best passive in the game. However, it seems like everybody who argues this, is combining it with COPD. It seems to me that anything, even an offensive passive is the best defense in the game with CoPD.
I do need a few more lvls to test this build. I hit about 27 in the first few weeks, and then made it to 29 in about two months, and then to 31 in a few days. You know how it goes.
Any thoughts on the shurikeen throw? I use my pistols for ranged damage. I wanted something that would pulled ranged dudes to me, and break blocks. With a 1 sec timer, and a low energy cost, this seemed like the perfect combo. I don't know if any other attack really combines all these elements. Niether lash or Iron lariat do. Actually, combined with CoPD, and entangling mesh, this could be very useful.
(you know, for that glass cannon hiding behind a shield, just out of meelee range)
Of other note, CoPD does not break stealth, and with a 3 minute duration, I can stealth up to my target group, drop a CoPD, placate the villian, and then drop the henchman. Before the villian is awake. (I like to make surgical strikes) I can take the heat if need be. When i tested CoPD in the danger room, I forgot to put a passive up, and still wiped through manimmals on 2 person hard stting. With regen, I took out 3 person hard setting. Even in combat, I've never had a broken Copd cast
Of other note, I've also been playing around with different roles. I Have 3 at present that I have worked on. My standard build, with crush dmg resist, and plus perception, My tank, where I pulled out my + perception/ego, and tossed in a new enhancement with 100% root/hold resist, and extra def bonus, and I play in protect mode, and then my elemental build, which is exactly like the first, except I take out my crushing resist, and slot with elemental resist. I did make a 4th, I pulled out my +perception, for a straight blue stat boost. I actually made that my standard, and backlogged the stealth for a specialty build.
Some thoughts on single blade could also be made. I've tried all the attacks and decided on the three above. The basic attack is nice, however, it is a combo, the swallowtail is just better. It does enough damage, that I usually just spam that, and maybe toss in a dragons bite. If they run, I just finish them off with pistols while the dot is active. (Thats actually what it is good for, those elusive runners that are so painful to meelee) As for the last attack, I forget its name, it was a waste having two charged attacks on a 6 second timer. Its alot of work to get them both off. So one is all you really need. Since I have three edged blade to put me in a focused state, dragons bite was the obvious choice.

I pulled out the shurikeen which is clever, however, not really worth the points invested. Instead I put in lead tempest. My original build did not have an aoe, and this one so fits the overall theme, and well, it rocks, esp from inside my copd. I'm sure it will also be handy when I do that Lemi quest, it burns energy well. Though, with killer instinct and a lot of targets, it does ok on end drain. I'm sure acc met, will help when i add that. (I should also note the swallowtail is listed on designer as 3 adv pts, its only two, so i have another pt to toss into acrobats, is my guess.
I did a field test, at 32, I respecced out of my last 4 advantage points to grab tread softly and rank two from lead tempest, and I managed to take out the danger room with mamminals on 5 person setting. Now, it didn't have any stags on the time I took it out. A couple of those charging had a habit of knocking me out of my circle, and i rapidly died. However, when i could hold my ground, I just blocked and let them beat on me, then opened fire. rinse and repeat.
So I think this is the way to go.
However, I've also been playing around with eye of the storm from dual blade. I might go with that instead. I added beyond the veil, so that it does damage to mobs that run out of range while I maintain. Having the added dmg resist with my laser shield really stacks up nice, and its much cleaner than lead tempest.
I'll have to ponder that for awhile. I actually have more success against 5 man danger room settings with it though.
And no worries raiku, I won't bump this anymore, I'm just thinking aloud, I can edit through my comments at will without moving it up. However, regardless, I had no intention to add any more comments. No need to worry. It will vanish off the frontpage in a few hours.
I just wanted to make sure I stressed the point that CoPD is the must have power in the game.
At any rate, I figured out how to combine the two proposed builds so as to keep the shurikeen attack. Just so I can find out how well the ultimate tank survives with LR once you yank them out of thier CoPD and disable thier blocking ability, and then open fire with rapid maintain dmg pistols

Please stop bumping this, its the totally wrong section of the forums, the link you want is the subforum at at the top of the page.
Just because of raiku. I don't like forum nazi's screaming about PC.
I just think they are mad because they are a LR advocate that doesn't like me flaunting how overpowered CoPD really is. And well my other assesments of how to abuse the power pools.
Whatever, I've been abusing pt systems for years.
(and I should note, I'm always suspicios when I see a beta user join date. I suspect that they are a money vendor, and so have a vested interest to hide their secrets.I looked at raikus profile.)
