I'm having issues that I think will be helped by a new video card (the one I bought turned out to be a dud... suck). Is it as bad as it seemed?

Basically I have problems keeping up. I lag a bit in fights with other PCs around, sometimes dying because of it and have to try and run back... WAAAAAY too far usually, and then I can't find my way around the minimaps too well... I'm so busy trying to keep up and "do my job" that I hardly know where I am. In Telios Tower for example, finding the teleports when your team has already left your level was totally r-tarded.

Do teams usually wait for you before leaving sections? Was that just poor protocol? Or do I really just need to avoid 5 man groups until my graphcis are ready to fly?

Basically the rushing made my team experience so bad that I'm not sure I should even attempt 5 man content. I know it's not due to poor build, as I solo 2-3 man content reasonably well. At a slower pace :)

Do teams usually coordinate and wait or do most random teams just turbo around like that?

Well all the mobs along the way really aren't worth the xp so many folks just try to zip through as fast as possible. For instance my missions maps for the BM event, someone pointed out I could just fly to the end and skip all the in-between and as any drops that might drop really won't help me at all it made sense. It doesn't seem like some WoW dungeons that if you left mobs behind they would join in on the boss fight. Just my perspective and my best guess.

My time with teams is all the same they all just zerg through the map because of the game mechanics which in my opinion are trash.

teaming really sucks in this game everyone slates wow but ya know what wow dungeons are at least decent not just mindless button bashing till the boss is dead no strategy no nothing makes it boring for me but thats just me i prefer proper teams with proper roles.

I'm not going to comment on the rest of your post, because this thread isn't about whether or not teaming is good/fun, but I will say this: You bought into this part when you knowingly purchased one of the only 'classless' games on the market.

As to the OP, yeah. Five man runs tend to go by fast, but decent folk will usually wait if you voice that you're having trouble. Otherwise, I'd suggest maybe upgrading just for the fact that it will improve your gaming experience across the board. I personally find this game very 'pretty' and running it at max while in a group with little to no lag after upgrading my card has improved my enjoyment a good bit. To each his or her own, but I'd be lying if I said you needed to upgrade, especially for grouping alone.

I intend to upgrade. After the divorce lawyer is done draining my END bar :)

I bought a card and a PSU to support it, both were DUD and could only RMA the PSU. Have a PSU now but no card. I'll hope it gets better when I add a card.

That is the way teaming is in this game. You don't really matter, because you are not filling a role in the team. You are just more DPS. The team can go on, because whether everyone is there or not, its just a zerg, die, run back repeat.

If you play with friends or a SG, I'm sure people would be more considerate.

The classless system means everyone is basically the same class, "do it all" class.

It's cool to bash WoW or even CoX (best teaming in a recent MMO in my opinion), but those games had satisfying and rewarding teaming.

CO's teaming currently is just god awful, the reasons have been discussed to death. Hopefully, Cryptic make some drastic changes to improve it.

pugs will be pugs in any game, at least here they can't ninja need roll on a boe epic but they can still be idiots in other ways. Best teaming with people you know imo.
