# 1 Newbie questions regarding improving performance

So earlier this year I purchased a laptop without any thought given into using it for a gaming pc. That changed when I got into Champions.

My system is a Dell studio 17. I know now that I cant upgrade the video card (which is a mobility radeon HD 4650). I wanted to know if there was anything I can do to improve performance on the game without sacrificing the framerate?

I'm not sure what info is needed regarding my system (outside of the obvious being it's a studio 17) so I guess I'll just state that my OS is windows vista premium, intel core 2 duo T6400 cpu, 4 gig ram, 64 bit, and...whatever else anyone looking to advise me needs to know, let me know.

You've got a decent system. Not fantastic, but decent.

The limiting factor is going to be the video card. And there is nothing you can do about that.

You've already got a decent dual core, 4 gb ram.

Hate to say it, you're stuck.

Its similar to my laptop, Dell XPS m1530 with a 2.2 ghz Core 2, 3 gb ram and an Nvidia 8600m GT 512 mb.

I can play at 1280x800 with most settings on medium with decent perforamcne

Turn off post-procesing, bloom, antialiasing

That'll improve performance.

Yeah, I figured I was pretty much SOL on this. Incidentally, I've been meaning to get myself a strong desktop setup, so I suppose now I've got more incentive to do so.

Thanks a bunch for the assist.

Just for the tower.
