# 1 Why go a City of Heroes style power sets?

When I first followed this game after hearing they took over the license for Champions, I was picturing something totally different.

For example, I was picturing a range projector set, you'd choose your basic attack that did X damage. You'd then make it fire, cold, force, etc. You might choose to keep it single target, and it would keep X damage.

Time comes at level 11 that you want an aoe. You choose the same base projector power, add in bonuses that make it aoe, but in return drop its damage or add a cool down.

The reason I posted this is my munitions guy might really like to throw down a bunch of fire and forget mini turrents. The sigils of arcane are perfect for that in functionality, if only they looked different. Trust me, gadget bots aren't the same for my character if suggesting that.

Flamethrower gauntlets for my robot would be great, flame breath is perfect, if only it would emminate from the hands.

Archery is very lacking, I retired that guy. I'll wait for them to fill the archery sets. But why do I have to? Why wasn't this game designed from the ground up like this. Many of the ice or fire affects would be perfect for a trick arrow, if they could just shoot from a bow rather than the hand or the forehead.

Even if not a full blown ability to create powers from the ground up, some customization would have been great. For example, gadget pets. Not everyone is a comic relief super hero. The pets could have had a drop down list, toy factory look, floating killer drones, robotic minions of doom, zombie with guns, whatever!

I don't get costume unlocks either. If I am playing my level 35 toon and finally unlock 40000000 kills for a costume piece that sparks my imagination for a new character......well I have to create that new characters without all the costume unlocks, and grind forever to finally get the look I want........after I've played the character for 200 hours.

On that last point, did they make costume unlocks account wide, admit I haven't kept up with news.

The early press described it exactly how you are now. While I think what they have is good, it sounded much more fun the other way. :)
