# 1 DEVS: Any comment on when we might get new costume options for female toons?

I've seen a number of posts about the lack of (viable) costume options on the female toons, but no response from the devs at all.

Are you folks aware of the issues?
Are you working on it?
Might it happen any time soon?

I wonder if people understand the process of adding something so seemingly simple as new costumes. It's not simple at all, despite people claiming it is.

For those who wonder:
  1. Art Department submits new Costume pieces/Designs
  2. Development begins, as each individual piece has to be added
  3. Developer gets single piece to "fit" - which includes looking right stationary AND with all conceivable moves
  4. Developer adds second piece of set, gets it to move correctly
  5. Developer equips both pieces, and goes through process of making BOTH pieces flow with each other
  6. Developer adds 3rd piece of set, then repeats step 5 to make all of the 3 work together

On and on until 1 full costume is added. But it's not over yet! Now, they must compare EACH piece when used with EVERY OTHER piece already in the system.

The Art is easy - making them WORK is the hard part. Unless of course you just want them to recolor existing items - then it's easy - and not what people are asking for.

I didn't say it was easy. But I'd like a dev to acknowledge that there is a problem here and let us know they are going to get around to fixing it eventually.

Everything you are saying makes sense, except that they clearly did NOT follow such a rigorous process with a lot of the current costume pieces, because they are buggy, ugly, the wrong size, and just generally unusable.

Take a look at Emblems on the female toons. They are clearly sized WAY too big for the female bodies. Must've just copied them directly over from the males.

Same with Belts. Almost all of them are too big. Looks like a kid wearing her Mom's clothes.

That is woefully exaggerated. I've spent more time in the costume creator than in game and the only "bugs" I've seen are minor clipping on some parts that a slight body slider modification fixed. o.O

2 Reasons for this issue.

1) Cryptic does not allow all Costume items to be used with both genders... ( Males get WAY MORE OPTIONS )

2) Cryptic seems to love Cowboy hats and other random items alot more then a normal human should.
I can atleast now with my unlocks count 10 Cowboy hats..... WTF do I need 10 Hats that look the same from more then 10feet away..... this was just WASTED Design time that could have be spent on more interesting Costume selections...

The reality is very simple... yes it takes a LONG time to add all this "Easy Content" but the sad part is that Cryptic is not very good at managing their time then... cause they had enough time to add in 10 cowboy hats.... but not enough time to simply make all the current items useable by both genders.. L2 Manage Time!

Like I said - unless we just want current items re-skinned (colored). Those 10 hats are proof of how easy and fast just changing a pattern is.

Yup and not to mention it takes a good couple of weeks to get those costumes looking just right. I've had the privilage to talk to a developer from another MMO about crafting items. From house items to weapons to armor it takes a LONG time to get things right.

CO is different, but in the other MMO they had to make sure armor could fit a variety of creature sizes. Here I believe the clothing options probably expand due to model mechanics, but they have to program in those mechanics for each piece.

Gee, comparing Real Worlds with a Comic Book game - and the Comic game loses in amount of detailing?

Oh woe is us!

BTW - WTH *is* "Real Worlds" anyway?
