Ya, the hubby and I got ours, now hopefully we can convince our WoWers that went to **** to hop on board.
And anyone notice the date that their lifer goes to, mine says
"Subscriptions
* Champions Online Lifetime Subscription ACTIVE
Play Time Until: 1969-12-31"
So, we go backwards in time!

About the topic of CO dropping in playerbase, I doubt it. There's always tens upon tens of different intances of popular maps, each with atleast 100 players in them at any given time. I played during the day, and also did a few all-nighters, and some of the maps were always locked out as the intance was full. I'm also holding on to the keys until Blood Moon. It'll get my friends excited to play something Halloween related, and it'll give me a reason to play with them at low levels. :) |
I'm gonna be saving my keys until Blood Moon comes around, as well. I think it'll add a bit of excitement for my buddies. Brand new power set, events going on. It'll probably make them more likely to buy.

Why limit this move just to lifetime subscribers? It's not like the rest of us don't have friends who are holding out for the free trial to play the game as well.

Superlative!
I've already managed to hook two of my friends on the game*, and I shall use these buddy keys to bring in even more, no doubt.
* - Werewolves, that's what hooked the first two. Cryptic, if yer listening, moar beast stuff! It only serves to addict more people!

It'd be foolish of Cryptic not to make this available to all subbers. *insert joke about Cryptic's competency here*.

But this "buddy keys for lifers" deal does make reasonable sense for Cryptic regardless. As far as profits go lifetime players are no longer going to be providing Cryptic any direct revenue themselves. But if they can allow the lifers to hook some new players into to the game then those new player could potentially make up the difference for the players who aren't paying month to month. It's a clever move on Cryptic's part. ;) |

doesn't surprise me. |
PS: Odds are Life Time subscribers like myself probably received them first because we have more faith in the company/[product to take the leap of faith. Or it could have been all the players that were in the beta I personally haven't checked the email/wording to see which.

Perhaps they are worried about the people who pay monthly redeeming the codes on themselves when they have no intent on paying. 3 codes 2 weeks each. Lifetime subbers are not in a position to benefit by using them on themselves. I would think they would have some sort of system to prevent this but maybe not.
I was just gonna ask if we could use these codes on friends who had head start but quit because of the "Launch Day Debacle" without them needing to create new accounts and I thought of the above reasoning.
