This is the short review I will be posting on the other gaming sites I frequent.
The good:
* Nice costume creation system. You can, for the most part, make your character look the way you want. It is good enough that the omissions stand out .
* The skill system is fantastic. Probably the best since old UO.
* Incorporating a powerbar on skills was a great idea. It makes combat more interesting.
* The Zone Designs are very well done.
* The game itself is stable and attractive.
The Bad:
* Combat overall is simplistic and boring. Note that CO is no different than other modern MMO’s in this respect -- all have worked hard to create games that a five year old can master without difficulty. Which is great if you are five, but not so good if you are not.
* Gameplay consists of a series of linear solo missions. Every character in the game runs the exact same missions, in the same general order, and there is nothing else but these missions.
* The game ends when the last mission is finished. There is nothing more there. Your character was never a part of any world and remains detached from it. He or she is a ghost, passing through and doing these pointless tasks before vanishing. Along the way, your character has acquired nothing -- no uber-item pixel-crack, no house, no collectables, and amazingly enough (thanks to the mission system and solo play) likely no friends.
* Group play: The devs have clearly bought into the very vocal forum consensus that most MMO players want to solo and do not want any character to have an actual role in group play. To this end they have done pretty much everything they can dream up to discourage players from grouping together.
Yes, you can group, but there are no tools to make it easier and no point to doing so. Missions cannot be repeated, most cannot be shared, and the missions themselves are so short that it is possible to spend more time looking for a mission everyone needs than actually completing the mission in the first place.
* Character design: while there are dozens or hundreds of ways you could make your character, because this is a solo game there is really only one smart way to do it unless you want to deliberately challenge yourself. DPS, DPS, DPS, DPS.
Player / Character retention features: There are, literally, none. There are no items to collect, nothing to own, no special "look at how cool I am" costume pieces, no housing, no special high level skills. And if that were not enough, they even took away any challenge so there's not even that to keep a player intersted.
Overall: If you are looking for a single player console game in which you can see other people running around, then CO is probably right for you. Just don’t expect any replay value. It’s fun -- in a simplistic, single-player way -- for a few weeks, and that’s pretty much it. If you were hoping for an actual MMO and have either played MMO's before or are older than about twelve, then stay clear of this one.
Two stars out of five.

What a load of trash from someone who already said they quit but just won't leave. Have fun spreading ignorance in an attempt to sabotage the game. And grats on your third "i quit" rant.

If you have nothing constructive to say about this thread then you are simply trolling. This is against the TOS.

They got new content incoming this patch, to fix the gaps, but there's still issues with having to repeat content on alts, as there's only one path to 40.
Comments on grouping are spot on.
The summary is spot on... the best single-player game out there with other people running around.
Unfortunately, as a MMO, it fails. It can be fixed - primarily with addition of GROUP content to fulfill its promise as an MMO, and the game has a good base to work from... but until there's group content worth mentioning, the game fails as an MMO.
That's not to say it's not fun to go from 1-40 solo. That is to say it sucks eggs when you reach 40.
To those who are having fun with it still? More power to you. Until the grouping situation is fixed, including adding some challenging content to keep 40s active and happy... the game fails for me (once you reach 40, anyways).

This is exactly right, It's a console game, and a good one, but it's not an MMO.[/quote]
You do know the diffrence between console game and single player game, right? Console games are played on consoles.....
You people can't even whine correctly. :(

I've seen you reply to this thread 3 times. None of your replies offer any rebuttal or discussion of the OPs arguments. If you disagree, explain why, rather than just being a douche.

This is what you are agreeing with. Nonsense. The game needs better grouping gameplay, some was added in this patch but they need more. That doesn't make anything this person said correct though.
