Or something. During the downtime I randomly thought "Hey, I should make an elemental melee guy." I was thinking ice, both because snares mix nicely with melee, and because I wanted an ice guy but the ice powerset seems about as interesting to me as the collected works of Paris Hilton. So I'm gonna start crafting something I like in championBuilder, pop in and suggest things! I'm thinking basically a hybrid of two powersets (probably unarmed MA and ice), and I need to figure out how to synergize things like superstats and passives. This is your task, go!

I don't have much to offer you on this point, except to point out that you ought to take a look at the power replacers that add elemental damage to melee attacks. I would think you would want to acquire or craft those as soon as possible givne your character concept. Thematically, and this is just a stab in the dark, I would think Ice could show some synergy with Might, since Ice slows down foes and Might is mostly about big, charge up attacks. You could show them down first, then charge up the big punch.

So, I'm looking at things, and seeing that ice has some decent crit-based stuff. Not a lot, but some. That could work out well with claws.

IT depends... I have a darkness/unarmed build that rocks pretty seriously(he soloed Fight Club easily - even took on the MV and SV at the same time easily) but I don't know much about Ice. I'll say this much, if you are gonna go with unarmed take the unarmed energy builder(righteous fists) and the advantage Drunken Master. IF you want a crit build, go with Dual Blades EB and the advantage Grinning Ghost... both of these advantages give the same effect as having the slotted offensive passive from each set w/o needing to slot it... the unarmed version gives you a dodge buff and procs a damage buff every time you dodge and the DB version gives you a crit buff that procs a damage buff each time you crit... the difference that these make is pretty kick butt.
Plus, it's nice to basically be able to have a slotted offensive and defensive passive at the same time...

P.S. If you go with unarmed, get Lightning Reflexes. The extra damage stacks up hella fast with this... it's pretty darned nice! If you go DB, I'd suggest either LR or Regen... the other passive defenses will be kinda gimped with a Dex/Ego crit build otehrwise...

Hmmm... still trying to find something elemental that synergizes stat-wise with something melee. Are there any elemental(ish) frameworks that take advantage of crits, bleeds, or dodge?

Still hunting. Any thoughts anyone? I can't come up with anything that synergizes well, and I still don't know if the elemental forms would scale the melee attacks with power replaces.

Yeah, I think ice/claws and going for crits might be the way to go.
