I don't want this to be interpreted as a whining post, as I've got a free respec lined up and it's not like I based a build on it. I essentially took it because it sounded fun and I could respec out immediately if the testing failed, and I'm posting this so a text search will warn other potential dabblers. Little did I know I'd stumbled upon what is, hands down, the absolute worst ability in the game. Drumroll please:
Resurrection Serum + Reanimator!
For those unfamiliar with this fine ability, the base power is a resurrect in the gadgetry tree. Gets up anyone nearby. The reanimator advantage turns the ability into a zombie summoning power, but provides little info on its mechanics in the tooltip.
So, sounds neat, huh? Let's take it for a spin, and look at the fact sheet:
Other powers might be bugged, or poorly designed, or underpowered when compared to other abilities, or have too long a cooldown, or visually uninteresting, or borrow graphics from other abilities, or be too high on the tier chart, or require too many resources to take. But I submit that this is the sole power that fits ALL of these criteria.
So let's hear it for Reanimator!

So, sounds neat, huh? Let's take it for a spin, and look at the fact sheet:
- Costs 1 power point and 2 advantage points to get
- Is a tier 3 power, requiring the usual 5/8 other abilities to get
- Costs mana - not much, but it's not a free use like some cooldown powers
- Has a nearly 5 minute cooldown
- Has a two second cast time plus a 0.83 (might be INT-affected) activation time
- Casting is interrupted by any damage
- Has a 15 foot sphere effect range
- Even if there are multiple corpses within its range, it only summons one zombie
- The zombie looks like the rank 2 march of the dead zombies, but I have no idea how powerful it might be (more on that later)
- Even if there are no corpses within its range - i.e. it does nothing - it still triggers the cooldown
- According to the tooltip, the zombie lasts 60 seconds
- INT doesn't seem to affect this timer like it does for March of the Dead
- Not that it matters, because the zombie disappears when the corpse disappears (yes, really - that means it lasts about 2 seconds)
- I was unable to test it alone, but if the tooltip is to be believed, taking this ability removes the original resurrection functionality. So it really is a tier 3 power point + 2 advantage points power, just to make this brief zombie.
Other powers might be bugged, or poorly designed, or underpowered when compared to other abilities, or have too long a cooldown, or visually uninteresting, or borrow graphics from other abilities, or be too high on the tier chart, or require too many resources to take. Holy ****, I never noticed the 5 minute cooldown before. That's pretty gimp even with the normal "resurrect one ally" functionality.

This will sound weird, but all blocks and the blocking skill.
Reason I don't think it very heroic to sit in block as much as it seems to be needed in the game, I know I am in the minority and understand i am, its ok for now but I see it getting tiresome two years from now, its like the close fighting in Matrix Online, was kinda of "Oh wow" but 5 mins later its like "Please kill me" and well no thats not an exhaggeration for that crappy game, but I can see it getting old in a year or two here, its kind of a console gaming type ability and not sure long term people will dig it.
I could be wrong, but thats my thought.

Another power that is a waste...vapor form...
Come on...really? A tier 3 power that is seperate from TRAVEL power - and a 4 minute cooldown after you leave vapor form. This one really takes the cake as well.

Particle Mine:
Deals 3-4 damage at 40.
Ok, ok, that was a cheap shot at a bugged power
How about the shrink ray thing? Makes your next attack shrink your target. (Makes them roughly 1 inch tall)
While this move is funny as hell to use on people who have never heard of it, it is totally uncalled for that it costs 2 Adv points to get the Adv that makes you bigger as the target gets smaller.

I haven't really stumbled across any terrible powers, though the 2 point advantage to force cascade, containment blast, comes close, but only in PvP. It's supposed to apply a hold to all those effected, which it does in PvE, but for the duration of the hold they get a 100% damage shield (which can be exploded for some piddling AoE if you take another advantage on one of your other abilities). Unfortunately, in PvP, it applies the damage shield, but... not the hold. So I can blast people out of the water, dealing 1000-1500 damage in an AoE and send them flying far enough that often they take up to another 500-1000 damage falling, with one of my favorite attacks, then they all are invulnerable for 15 seconds while they do whatever the hell they want.

Divine Renewal is just as crappy pointless. It cannot be used in combat despite not saying that, making it worthless. Go figure. And the advantage? Raise up to 4 people at once... which if you're the last one alive, you're gonna get whomped now, cuz your entire team just wiped.
