Now that Tazer Arrow is gone, what is YOUR hold of choice for PVE?
After tonights free retcon I am most likely going with Crippling Coils because I have read its a 1.8 hold.
I might be wrong so I'd love to hear your opinions on which one to take.

I don't have a hold on any of my characters as of right now, except for my Ice build. I don't use a hold on my Darkness, Dual Blade, TK, Munitions, Might or even my Force build guys as of right now. I don't enjoy using them nor have a felt that I have needed one yet. I have used Force Hold, but I retconed out of it as it was one of my headstart characters. I may pick it back up, it seemed to work well.

Only one hold was worth the charge time ad sort of fit in my concept, its gone got no holds only had it on one toon, only used it on one mob and di not stack it, did not know I could, did not care, with leade tempest and mini mines I only needed to hold something once, kill the non held mobs and finish the last guy off, till now. I have the Sorcery hold on my sorcery toon as well, doesn't work very well but got nothgin better to take and hold the concept, so i keep it.

Mistook the name!
Crippling Coils is a strong hold, but fairly short. I'm told that Bindings of Aratron is much better.

I would have recommended Grasping Shadows, but I think Cryptic nerfed it recently. It costs over 100 energy now (championbuilder says 72, so it was an undocumented nerf, I think). I also noticed it breaks on damage much easier than before.

But if it works reasonably well in PvE, it's could be a good choice. No recharge. Cheap. Maintain to build up hold strength, rather than a charge up, which can be better sometimes.

I don't need it for pvp, I just wouldn't mind having one for the level 40 supervillians in lemuria, I think they are called empyreans because they hit for 1400 a tick.

Using Grasping Shadows here.
Usually I start by summoning zombies, then targeting the strongest mob of the group and full charge of GS, continue in to build some energy, Ego Sprite for added DoT flavor and finish off with TK Eruption.
Henchmen will usually drop dead without ever coming out of the hold, Villains at times take a bit more after the hold finished (Basically because me directly damaging them made them break much faster).
Grasping Shadows is a good hold, although it's one time per combat kind of power, unless someone is taking the heat from you, as it stops charging if damaged.

Someone more or less chain-held me in a Cage Match with a hold that lasted forever on my healer and formed a red bubble around me, as soon as I find out which it is, I'm getting it (unless ofc they nerf it beforehand). My god, so ****ing annoying.
