# 1 FIX: Lightning Reflexes

After acquiring level 20 on my character I decided to test out the usefulness of Masterful Dodge with Lightning Reflexes. Once the Masterful Dodge wore off I decided to just test the characters ability to dodge. It was at this time that my character failed to dodge roughly 7 times. This seemed peculiar to me as the chances of something like this happening seemed unlikely.

I decided to "scientifically" test Lightning Reflexes. Each test group contained 20 attempts vs. the "Blue" laser in the defense testing room of the powerhouse. I did not include the above "streak" into the calculations, I began fresh.

The results are as follows:

First Test

Attacks :20
Hit :12
Dodged :8
Dodge Percentage :40%

Second Test

Attacks :20
Hit :10
Dodged :10
Dodge Percentage :50%

Third Test

Attacks :20
Hit :8
Dodged :12
Dodge Percentage :60%

Fourth Test

Attacks :20
Hit :11
Dodged :9
Dodge Percentage :45%

Character Sheet Dodge Percentage :58.6%
Character Average Dodge Percentage :48.75%

Only once did the character achieve over 58%, and that was by a small margin. Conversely, the other three tests were significantly lower than what it should've been.

I'm no statistician, I'll admit that this sort of thing would likely require a thousand tests or more. That being said, from what limited data I have, I would advise Cryptic to re-examine Lightning Reflexes. My situation may have been an unlucky fluke, but it seems unlikely after 80 tests that I would be "unlucky" by such a wide margin.

Is your ability to dodge still dependant on your opponents stats? (in this case, the lasers?)

It would be uncomfortable if it were, as it would be an additional nail in the coffin to lightning reflexes. No other defensive scales in value according to the level of your opponent.

My only complaint about it is that it sucks compared to most of the other defensive passives. Buff buff buff!

The problem is you're only level 20. From those I've seen speak on the topic who are at or near level cap they say it's one of the best defensive passives out there. As you get higher level it scales and works better and better.

Precisely how many trials would you suggest?

Shall we all make it our profession to study the game and make a career of it?

It'd be nice if I could do a few thousand trials. But I can't, so I did a few dozen. I admit right in the original post that my results may be off, but that they may also be indicative of a larger problem.
