->First off, I'd like to say that I love... Well actually Love (did I say Love yet?) Champions Online and have always been a fan of MMO's. It fills the hours in my life that CoX (pre-i14) once had.
->Second off, I'd like to mention that I'm not a fan-girl of any game, genre, or well whatever that "title" means.
Yesterday I got my 4th or so toon to Millenium City and I decided to finally *not* wait up for my friends and take one of my toons out for a few Mishes. Pre-MC I had a few bad moments with frames but none were terrible issues so I just said to myself, "It's early in the MMO, give it time." The reason I put MMO instead of game is because I know that MMO's have a bit more "ruff spots" than most at launch. Any-hoo as I traversed MC I would get to points in the game when the environments would have to load up and my frame-rate would lock until I let go of the "w" key (forward) or sat there looking at the same frame for 3-5 seconds only to realize afterward that the game had kept going but not me, lol. I pushed on yesterday, but today the game was completely unplayable.
I know, I know, I'm an avid reader of the forums and have read the post(s) about the performance issues and a fix is on the way [ <3! ]. As for whether or not I'll be here when the fix is applied and the issues are resolved, the answer is *Yes*, *Yes*, *Yes*... We (hubby and myself) have bought 7ish ("ish" being possibly 8?) copies of the game... 2 for us, and 6 for friends, I mean heya - who wants to play an MMO without one or two friends to scurry around with : P ... But I digress. The point being, all PC games have problems at launch due to the nature of the PC, unless you're someone who doesn't play PC games you probably don't have the exact same PC as anyone you know (down to the brand name of your parts (ram, motherboard, etc...)
All I'm trying to say is Cryptic has a small team in comparison to the number of possible issues with the number of possible computer configurations with the amount of variables in the game to get things right IMMEDIATELY. If you thought comprehending the last sentence was a bit tough, you have no clue what *they* are dealing with. Be patient and the reward will come, a fun game for the people who like or love it.
A patient gamer,
Kirstina
P.S. - This is a general post (if not a motivational post) for all the negativity I've seen towards the game. And if a forum post could fix what my husband (an IT Professional/PC Tech-Head) couldn't then I wouldn't be married to him. (That's a lie but you get my point.)
