this is why offensive passives (electric form, ice form .etc) need to be buffed

+40% damage isnt enough vs people who use invul or regen.

i started off the duel using avenger stance and rank 2 electric form, but my highest and best dps attacks were barely denting his HP at all, while at the same time he was gunning me down with no problems.

i used my build changer thingy to swap to my defensive build, which uses rank 1 regen and a silly pink costume for comical reasons, and then tried to outlast him. i turned on Fraps, and this is what happened:

edit : i also noticed a few times when you could have done a different power rotation to finish the fight... just nit pickin but bad duel imo alot of times you could have ended the duel and just didnt pull it off same goes for the 40... he should have roflstomped you but w/e

also crippling challenge is your friend and your tp wont save u soon when you cant use while being held :P

I was surprised, and I think other people were as well, when offensive passives got a massive nerf - I want to say it happened in OB, but I'm at work, and can not remember exactly when the change was implemented.

Offensive passive should offer the damage upgrade needed to keep pace with the damage reductions of defensive passives [ideally].

Refusing to use the right moves at the right time and not learning what different skills do, should NEVER be the means of balancing a game.

You stopped using laser sword to use an attack that hits fast and does low damage per hit vs invul multiple times.
Level 30 vs a level 40. his mitigation from gear would be 20% higher or more.
8k hp means he had CON super stated, which gives him alot more hp a good 3k compared to a non con superstat, and it makes invul stronger.

Actively trying to not win is pretty easy.


Offensive passives are just fine. Incredibly powerful in the right hands.
Defensive passives are fine as well. In fact, Invul with anything but con superstat+rank3 is underpowered.

I don't see the problem. His shots were pretty weak but would have finished you pretty easy at the start of the vid if he used crippling challenge, cc, and something to keep you out of teleport. Every time you came even close to dying you just teleported. You beat a 40 with strong defense and weak DPS by keeping constant damage on and teleporting when you needed, grats, doesn't say jack about passives though.

I'm darkness build and mainly use shadow form in guardian stance.
When I dueled vs regen user with shadow form rank 3, +45% damage, I couldn't reduce his health below the half while he is AFK. Then I dropped balance.
I'm currently heavy endurance speced, shadow form gives about 60% damage bonus. This works fine.

Okay... So you abused the teleport/regen combo... And you are saying what exactly? The fact that a level 30 shouldn't ever be able to beat a level 40 and you did it because of an overpowered combo?

If anything, this video highlights what exactly the problem is with teleport in its current form.

It takes talent aiming for one point, proving the other...

to address a few points:

- i was going all out on this guy. i wasnt holding back 'for effect'. laser sword, which is my main source of dps outside of electrocute+lightning arc, costs 51 energy to use because i have the talent that increases the damage and energy cost, so i cant really spam it. by the time id have regened enough energy to use it (i need a full energy bar to use it 3-4 times) he wouldve regened. he was using bountiful chi resurgence rank3 and empathetic heal.

- yes, everytime i got low hp i teleported away, but everytime he got low hp he used superspeed to run away - i even showed it in the video... you can use ANY travel power to escape from people unless they pick up an anti travel
