for most users, how to set up a game to run better on your pc is not common knowledge, I am here to try to help!
First off, if your on the recommended settings for your system and still getting low fps/screen lag frequently. Go to advane settings and turn down Character/World detail 25% and draw distance down to all 100%.
This should get you 2-10 fps depending on your system.
There is a on/off option for
screen-space ambient occlusion TURN THIS OFF (even with a decent rig I have to turn this off to get 30-50fps)
Make sure that the Filtering is set to 4x not 16 I think the game defaults at 16.
Make sure you have not AA on.
Turn Lighting to low aswell as shadows.
These are some basic pointers I will add more as we go.
Now out of game, before you load it. Turn off all background and task bar programs you can OFF. THIS INCLUDES ESPECIALLY MESSAGING PROGRAMS. The use up your resources as your playing.
This might help with people who have not done a clean format recently too, run Disk Defrag from windows accessories.
If anyone else wants to add some stuff please do.

I have an easier solution than to go through all those options, and that's slide the quality bar all the way to the left. :P

I think it is offloading of course, but possibly not enough. I got a new card yesterday and still see virtually no difference in the performance issues. My upgraded card helped nothing.
Good news is that maybe, it is indeed a Nvidia vs. Game optimization issue, as I was talking to Wuxia and he told me that they are waiting on Nvidia for the drivers. He also said he would make a new "Performance Update" post in the next few days as I said many of us are waiting, which sucks, but what sucks more is not knowing if we're ever gonna be able to play the game like our systems should. I dunno, take that first-hand info. for what its worth, as its better than nothing atm.

Look up 'Game Booster' from IoBit software. Its awsome ;)
p.s. I have a 7950gtx Nvidia laptop card and it works fine, mind you I can't play on max settings, only medium...

They had at least a year to secure "proper" updated vendor support from one of the only (well known) graphics chipset makers, and well...it didn't happen.
Wonder why.

Perhaps you don't quite realize how important game profiles are, and no, it's not up to Cryptic to code those profiles into ATI/Nvidia drivers. There'a a reason why drivers are constantly being updated.
