It buffs ALL Ego damage. However, Shadow Form (which scales with END) boosts all Paranormal damage which includes Ego and Dimensional damage. It gives you a few more options for powers into the Shadow and Supernatural frameworks which can be fun!

I just did a quickie test on the PTS. STR seems to increase most melee damage but no TK Blade attacks. I piled on a moderate amount of strength using a retcon and talents and the Single and Dual Blade powers I had increased in damage (according to their tooltip and in practice), but the TK Blade power did not.

tk blades don't scale with str. tk blades actually scales with ego. ego now adds a bonus to tk blades similar to how str does.

on another note, ego form used with any other stats besides ego/dex, wont be fully optimized. an ego/dex toon buffed up with something like the new MA focus, will be doing crazy damge. on pts i was getting 7k ticks!

ego/end will not perform as well as shadow form, because one; ego and end use the same gear slots, thus making it impossible to hit the 70%-72% dmg bonus from ego form, two; ego on its own, without a good amount of dex is quite, um, a waste imo.

to solve the energy issues, you could always use tele reverations + ego storm to fill up your end bar fast, thus increasing your dps and providing crowd control as well.

You just showed me a hole in my testing. Wow, I didn't test Ego/Dex... I'll get to that and run the numbers. i also like your idea about how to solve the energy issue, although i don't think it will help in the Damage Per Second department because you are still doing very little damage for a certain number of second of that study. I'll post what I find.

OK folks, the numbers have officially spoken! I have tested just DPS and DPS alone on these builds. I have used just the bread and butter attacks of TK blades which is the energy builder and Ego Blade Breach. There are different things you could do to optimize the builds more but this is just a DPS test. Here is how it played out.

So Tyro 1, the new DPS build after the newest patch with Ego/Dex and Ego form is the clear winner by 30 points. That margin is even further exacerbated when you take into account how a properly geared EGO/DEX toon can crit often and hard. If you Are just going for pure DPS, that is the build to use for TK Blades.

However, if you are trying to fill multiple rolls by DPSing and off-tanking, then the pre-patch build will better suit you because of its ability to take a lot of heat. Moreover, it only scores a total of 8% less that the top DPS build. You have to remember that these are very small margins.

Also keep in mind that if you are fulfilling multiple roles or specing for PvP there are some interesting builds that can be taken form these sets above. For instance Tyro 2 with Shadow Form is a great build for off-tanking and support by taking Personal Force Field because it also scales with End and Ego, however, you won't get the Shadow Form bonus to def because that scales with Con.

Again, the purpose of this post was to find the best TK Blades build for DPS and it is officially the Ego/Dex Ego Form build. You can also take Ego Surge and rank it to gain another 12% to crit. Yowza! OSOK baby!

Sure it's old school and slightly lower dps, but for the versatility... sounds like the better mix.
