# 1 "End Game"

Folks have been mentioning end game content. I've pondered on this a couple days and figured I'd drop in some of the ideas I'd jotted down. Some have said that there is no "chance" of good end game content available for Super Hero genre MMO's. I completely disagree. They just need to hire a comic writer or avid reader. And I say avid with much inflection.

-* Raids: Good examples of raids for a hero based game would be Secret Wars (I or II) or the Infinity Gauntlet. I'm fairly sure everyone has made that same correlation. But, what would be examples of the type of stuff that might occur in CO? Well, generally so far these would be much larger crises. Imagine the Big DD rolling in with Gigaton, Rakshasa, (insert extra villains here) and all of them are legendary(tough) mobs with packs of themed villains with them rolling through Mill City putting the hammer down.

The chaos they've unfurled has to be slowed up. You'd have to help the fire departments contain fires, the police stop looters taking advantage of the chaos, interrupt a Foxbatplan to rob the bank while this goes on, as well as rescuing civilians from various perils around the city that is now in the process of getting hammered. After that, the villains have decided another good distraction would be to hire your nemesis to show up and try to keep you busy while the main force of villainy tramples through town trying to destroy city hall and the MCPD HQ. Meaning EACH person in the raids Nemesis shows up with a pack of henchmen to throwdown in Mill Town. As a final distraction, they've set in motion a series of tidal generators that will flood the city in short order if they are not stopped.

ALL of this is occurring nearly simultaneously as 5 "villain armies" consisting of dozens of henchmen, villains, master villains and super villains that have to be overcome before they reach their objective. Once those have been dispatched DD rolls in to "clean up the mess" his henchmen have failed to finish. Remember, these legendary toughs are DD's HENCHMEN, absolute pushovers. One tough bastage. As his life progresses downward, series of events occur in the fight. He sets off an earthquake that has you having to fly off and save people trapped in rubble, "save X in 3 minutes and get back to taking down destroyer!" Another is he reveals a hostage, Surhoff for example, is strapped to a bomb, you have 5 minutes to find him or he dies...and you have to search the scope of Mill city with a GPS to find Surhoff. And lastly DD triggers a device in the city to cover his escape, the device is a sonic destabilizer that will literally shake the city off it's foundations and cause it to "sink" leaving a parking lot where once stood the great Millennium City.

I feel it needs more flavor, but this is rather off the cuff & hopefully gives a better idea of what I think might be fun for end game content.

-* Single Group Content: After seeing the Monster Island Crisis, I'd say more group content geared toward this type stuff would be super nice. I had a blast running MI, Lemuria not so much, but MI ruled. Grab any issue of the Avengers or Justice League and you have a good idea for a "Crisis". One of the better ones that I remember also was the Death of Superman. The aftermath of everything where Coast City gets cratered, et al; it could lead to an outrageous sleuth/combat a la Rorschach crisis where the imminent danger isn't right in your face but subtly beneath the surface, hiding, waiting, festering till BAM you figure out the "master plan" and your antagonist and you head off for the final confrontation.

-* Single player content: At 40, allow the creation of lesser nemeses. It's not like Batman constantly fought the Joker. No, he had Bane, and Ivy, and Scarecrow, and Riddler and (fades off). These provide the same Nemesis tokens, but break up a bit of the monotony. 5 Lesser might be a nice number. These missions can be acquired as drops in either PVP or PVE play. "Random glowy box contains an atmosphere suit with The Blingmeister's insignia...hmm, what is he up too now? There is a packing slip here in the bottom, with an address. I better check this out...."

You have to think outside the normal range for item delivery if you want things to be engaging, you have to do something to engage. Trouble may always find a hero, but drops from an ambush are so ********. Step it up a notch. Make people actually PLAY the game instead of mashing buttons & hemorage phat lewt. "That pack of VIPER that you just wiped out, one of them dropped a gun that has Ammo Dumps (One of your lesser Nem's) "stamp" on it. If he is now supplying weapons to VIPER they could really step up their actions. You have to stop this!"

Seemingly unrelated things being brought together is a wonderful time honored tradition used throughout writing history, but it is something that you'll rarely see in gaming, at all, ever. This is called the reveal. When you get to Ammo Dumps manufactoring facility, it is staffed with Fanboi's and Foxbots? The plot thickens! *I realize Foxbat would probably never engage in such a union, but I'm using it for effect here.

Keep us on our toes! Thanks for reading!
