I created my character and am happy with her, but I totally spaced looking at the color of her powers. Is that something you even do at character creation, and if so are there any chances post tutorial to tweak the look of your char, including powers?

You can change the color of your powers at any time as near as I can tell. Right click on the power in your hot bar it will pull up where you want the power to come from and there should be a box there that will allow you to slide the color to where you want it.

You can tweak your character look (costume, body, etc..) at the tailor once you get into one of the crisis zones after the tutorial. This will cost you in game currency though. As far as powers, press the P key then click the small square in the upper right of your powers and you'll get a slider that you can use to adjust the color. Some powers also ave different emanation points (palm, fist, head or chest) that you can change on this screen as well.

The tailors in-world will let you change your appearance (costume and body form), just look for the blue mask icons on the map. There are tailors in the main bases in Canada and the Desert, you will also find them in many other population centres.

As Lysharra has mentioned you can also adjust the colour and in some cases the emanation point for your powers at anytime from the powers screen. This is a very cool feature.
