Is it me or are both Ego Annihilation (EA) and Ego Blade Breach (EBB) are lackluster in DPS and DPE. These are both Tier 3 powers that feel inferior to their Tier 1 counterparts.
I recently tested EA and my conclusion is Ego Weaponry (EW) ranked up does better DPS and DPE. I understand EA's damage become better when mobs are under 25% health, but the loss of damage the other 75% of the time is really impacting the performance of this power. In addition, you can choose the advantage Mindful Inversion on EA, which inverts the damage modifier (bonus against targets with high-health). However, if you take EW to Rank 3 (vs. Rank 2 EA), I believe you have a more reliable power in both DPS and DPE. Am I out of my mind on this one?
I also tried EBB and my conclusion is why charge this power when Ego Blade Frenzy (EBF) does equivalent better DPS and DPE in a cone. EBB hits hard with two pulsing hits (slight pause between the two), but EBF spins out consistent, rapid damage in cone. If you tap EBB the damage is similar to EW. So again the question is what is the point of this Tier 3 Power. In addition, from a thematic stand-point, the animation is mediocre and adds nothing to a direct-melee concept.
In summary, I'm not thrilled with the Tier 3 melee powers from TK. Perhaps I'm not viewing these powers properly, but from my perspective the bread-and-butter Tier 1 attacks offer equivalent or superior DPS/DPE without wasting valuable power slots.
Thoughts?
Cheers,
MIG

EBB is a very VERY powerful attack, some may even say it's overpowered. At higher levels, it can do obscene amounts of damage. Remember, it applies a Ego damage vulnerability on each hit, totaling up to 30% increased damage after a few taps.
I have a lvl26 Ego Blade character, and I can get 2.2k damage total EBBs on a full charge (non-crit). That's 1.1k on each hit. Sure, Frenzy may deal that much in total, but EBB has no cooldown. Also, I find that one tap of EBB kills an even-con henchmen, which is a nice way to clear them out of Frenzy is on cooldown.
Also, tapping EBB a few times THEN using Frenzy results in even more damage output.
In PvP, I usually Ego Hold then spam Tap EBB like crazy, which will often kill someone without a Defensive Passive before the Hold breaks.
I have seen a screen shot of a character dealing over 8,000 damage with one EBB.

I thought EBB was the most powerful attack in the game?

Thanks for the feedback.
So, EA is useless, but EBB is solid...
I must be doing something wrong then, since EBB is only doing half the damage mentioned. Maybe it is because I am specced for EGO and the damage is still wrongly scaling the bonus with END?
What else could be causing the discrepancy?
Thanks,
MIG

And be sure you're watching carefully. If you tap spam EBB you'll see one number of damage, but the 'back swing' damage will get covered up by your next tap. It's still there though.
I just got Breach at 26. It is so much better than Ego Weaponry it's sad. Now, that's with END as super stat so I have 200+ energy. If you only have about ~110 energy you can't spam EBB to much and that's maybe where weaponry can help because of how cheap it is.

I have no hard numbers but, from my experience of EBB vs. Weaponry spam, weaponry does superior damage per energy point with 1 or 2 EBB debuffs up. It is WAY more energy efficient and you can level a super villain in record time with x3 EBB then Weaponry spam. Fighting multiple mobs, it's even more noticeable. I only occasionally need to use energy builder during the fight that way.
Rank 3 Weaponry + Accelerated Metabolism is awesome :)

With 3 EBB stacks up at lvl 25 (these are the numbers I experience with my toon):
Ego Weaponry
Avg Dmg per hit: 300-500
Execution time: ~2 seconds (for 3 subsequent Weaponry attacks)
Total avg dmg: 1600 (4 hits... 1 of the weaponry attacks hits twice)
Energy spent: 20.1 (6.7 x 3)
EBB Full Charge
Avg Dmg per hit: 700 - 900
Execution time: 2 or 3 sec charge time (can't remember)
Total avg dmg: 1600 (2 hits)
Energy spent: 59
So you spend less energy and don't have to stand still for around the same amount of damage + or - 100 or so. Please correct me if I'm wrong but this is what I experience in game.
Edit - Just to be clear, both my EBB and Weaponry are at rank 3.
