i know that most forum posts and complaints fall on deaf ears, but here goes anyway.
i had been following champions online for awhile and was happy to see it on the shelves of my local store after release. i hmm'ed and haww'ed about it for several days and yesterday evening decided to download the client and take the plunge. i was a LONG time CoX player and figured Cryptic could do Champions justice (hero pun intended).
After downlaoded the big-ass client and patching for about an hour i finally logged in only to find that I couldnt, in fact, log in at all. After having waited with bated breath, watching YouTube reviews, trailers, and gameplay videos for 2 hours, having the login server be complete dead was a big letdown.
Now as I read thru the forums i see that a lot of people are having HUGE framerate, rubber-banding, and other such issues who are using similar rigs to mine (which meets or exceeds the 'reccomended' requirements in all categories) and I'm finding myself wondering if i've made a big mistake. I have to go to work early in the morning (and almost overslept because i was up late downloading, patching, video driver updating, etc) so i havent had the chance to try and login today yet.
I guess my point is... c'mon guys... cryptic... it ain't like this is your first rodeo (sorry... i'm from texas... cowby analogies abound). You think maybe you should have checked and made sure people could do things like... yknow... log in right off the bat. I know games always have some problems at release, but I'm of the opinion that a studio with as much MMO experience as cryptic should have been able to produce something that was at least marginally stable right off the bat.
Now... with that said I'm reserving final judgement prior to trying to login after i get off work this afternoon (lunch break right now... nom-nom-nom-hot-pockets), but I think for my $50 I deserve something I can at least use. So anyhoo, flame away at the n00b if you feel the need, I just wanted to get my thoughts out there. I've always said if you dont let a company know how you feel (in a constructive way) you have no one to blame but yourself if you're not satisfied... or something like that... yeah... im at work so the brain is only half engaged so the stupid i deal with all day doenst hurt so bad.
later champions players
see you online later this afternoon...
i hope...
