Yeah, that part of the mission was really irritating for me both times I had to do it. I think they were TRYING to make it so four teammates working in coordination can easily move around the magnet, but really it's just more of a pain than it's worth. And for me the mission just went downhill from there. Of the three 5-man missions I've done so far, the Dr. Destroyer mission is the only one that I would never do again.

I can see how it can be annoying. It was a bit confusing the first time I did it with a group that had no idea, but we figured it out eventually. And like the second quote here states, it's best to have just one person work the controls.

I've done the instance six times now, and each time I always instruct my teammates to wait at the door for the enemies to spawn, while I work the controls. Takes but a few minutes to do, once you know what you're doing. The only time I've had it go diagonally, is if I hit a N or S control, and then hit a W or E control before stopping the other (which you have to do by hitting the opposite direction button from the way it's initially moving).

I've always assumed they made the room with the intention of having one person on each control, working it as a team, but that idea definitely fell on it's head if so. At least, in the sense that it's more complicated than it's worth to try to explain to everyone, than it is just to do it by yourself.

When I originally posted this my husband and I were duoing this mission... and it was all kinds of suck.
We finished it thoe, after a REALLY long time.
We have since done this one other time.

It kinda turned us off from the 5 man missions... because it wasnt much fun at all.

I'm VERY turned off from 5 mans. Most of them are overscaled in difficulty. This game goes from mind-numbingly easy solo questing to wtf hard in 5 man dungeons, especially the bosses where it ends up being a graveyard zerg.
Why is there no middle ground at all??

Teleios' Tower and The Burial Caves are better, or in any case nowhere near as annoying. And if you duo'd Dr. Destroyer's lab at level 26, you crazy people, those two missions should be a cakewalk.

We have done all the 5 mans in the game except Andrith which we cant do because we wont grind out to 40 on our 39s >.> and we got our alts up to 31 and stopped logging in :\ Monster Island isnt much fun for me the second time through... and I am stuck and dont wanna do Desert or Canada crisis zones EVER again...

I dunno. I am bummed about the lack of zones in this game. I knew about their plan as far back as alpha... I just thought they would come to their senses and realize that limiting content to only 5 zones sdjkfrh;iahn'gjmA" GRR

The 5 zones doesn't bother me too much. At least they're fairly distinct zones. The majority of CoH, for instance, seems to happen in one zone that's been sub-divided. But more zones and more things to do in the zones we have would certainly be welcome. I'd like a bigger city zone, myself. With large gothic buildings, elevated trains, and a reddish smog-filled sky.

and I completely sympathise with not wantig to do the Crisis zones ever again. Though I would gladly suffer them if I had something different to do right after I got out of them other than the same ol' Desert/Canada trek.
