To Daeke and Champions online dev team:

Thank you for the obvious effort you're putting into the game. It's very enjoyable and I have to admit that I've been late to work twice this week because I've been trying to get that "last bit of XP" to level. :)

However... There are a few things I'd like to dispute about the changes you're putting in tonight.
Quote:
* Telekinesis: Ego Blades: All Ego Blade powers should scale off of the Ego stat now instead of Endurance. All descriptions mentioning that scaling have been updated as well. Also fixed Ego Annihilation and Ego Weaponry to display the correct names while Id Blades are active, so they function like the rest of the Ego Blade attacks.
This is great. Allows for more focus on Ego Blade powers for me... Since I am already an offensively minded Dex/Ego TK user. However... I have some Talents that need to be redone now since I did take the 5/5 talents with Endurance because of the damage improvement.

I'm not demanding a free respec, or that you remove my talents so that I can repurchase them with proper stats.

What I am suggesting is that the idea of putting separate categories in under the retcon system, so I can, if my powers are changed in the future fix any issues with my build quickly and with less cost to me than if I were to try and undo my talents under the current system (Where they are absolutely buried under my other purchases.) I think this needs to be looked at for future updates.

Edit: The free respec was great. Thanks for the proactive respec Cryptic.

Quote:
* There is now a sell confirmation for double-clicking an item in the store, and by right-clicking an item in your inventory while the store is open. There will not be any confirmation if you click the sell button at the bottom of the store window.
This change in my opinion is no good. I know why you did it... But if I am honest, it's a horrible change. I build up huge amounts of items in my bags, I need to be able to empty my bags more efficiently. Not take more time at a vendor. My suggestion is a buy back tab on the vendor. I know it's a lot of work, but I would much rather see that than another confirmation window every time I right click from my inventory.

Edit: This change went into live. I have to say. I hate it. Using my inventory to sell was preferred since I could see the stats on the item, see if it was bound or unbound. Also I could see if it was arms/science so I could send that off to my crafters. Now, it is a very lengthy process to sell my main bag and 3 16 slot bags, all full of gear I've acquired over 3-4 hours of missioning/ killing.

Please, I implore you, Daeke, Antiproton... Pass this on to whomever it needs to get to. Please get this changed back or changed. Please for the love of all that is good in gaming.

I have to agree with this 100% feedback.

If you change the key stat used to affect a set's powers then you *must* at the very least give them the opportunity to swap one of their superstats for the new stat if they didn't have that already. If the system can't do that and you're not going to make respec costs actually reasonable then you must give a free respec to affected characters.

Double clicking is the fastest way to sell all the junk in your bags, if you must put in a confirm dialogue, please give an option to turn it off or at least only have the dialogue on blues/purples and crafting components

Good idea. How should it be implemented?

What about a button to turn off sell - lock? It could be placed under options. Would require less work to implement.

Might be better to put this in the Public Test Server forum since this patch is still only on the test shard.

I was thinking that... But since the public notes are already out I figured general gameplay would be ok. But I have a feeling this is going to get lost to people whining about the latest patch without offering anything constructive.

Gotta agree with this post, as well as offer my $.02...

The selling of excess inventory items is not only a slight hassle, but there is no way to fix an "oops..I didn't mean to sell that!"...

I also agree that there is waaaaay to much whining on the boards about things that every single MMO in existence went thru with it's launch...folks need to chill out, relax and ride out the rough stuff. This is the breaking in period...just like a new car or anything else expected to be up and running 24-7 for years at a time...it is gonna have a rough start while stuff gets ironed out.
Either shut up with the whining, or don't play till they get everything smooth.

What I would do, is make it so that when you select "Retcon" it gives you a second set of options (same kind of screen as the first). These would be for each type of power (just like in your powers screen).

So if the original screen looks like this:

Retcon
Train
Info

Clicking Retcon should look like this:

Combat Powers (or whatever you'd call them)
Travel Powers
Ranks and Advantages
Talents
Character Focus

Each one would have its own respec cost / system similar to the over all one that already exists.

EDIT: One could even go so far as to break them up into further types. For instance:
Combat could become "Offensive, Defensive, Support." Etc. But this might be entirely too much.

(I Assume this is what you mean by "How would it be implemented")

I personally think the travel power is more needed than any. After a few days of teleport (which I view to be the BEST) I realized it didn't fit my theme very well and really wished I could switch to something else...but to do so currently I would have to delete my character and start from scratch. This is just ridiculous.
