However those two stats dont effect my damage right?

If not, what would effect my damage, and Dex will still increase my crit right?

Whatever stats you choose as your superstats (the game is calling those something like "primary focus" now) affect damage.

The main (only) reason rec/pre is recommended for Fire is because the damage and defense buffs in Fire Form are affected by those two stats. No other fire ability direct gains an effect from them. So if you choose to take fire without firey form (which I do not recommend) you don't need them. However if you want Fire Form, you do.

What I've been doing with a fire toon is make those two my super stats, stack them as much as sanely possible, and then get as much dex and end as I can besides.

What should take priority? Dex or End?

Eh, hard to answer. I'd say make sure you have enough end to fire off your biggest attack (from a full end bar) and still ahve a decent amount left over. then pump dex. It mgiht not hurt to get some con in there for hp as well, but that might not always be easy.

If you want Heavy fire, I suggest going DEX/END and taking ice form instead of fire form.

Ice forms damage scales off of endurance, and resistances off of dex. It works much better, and END is such an amazing stat to have, as is dex.

That sounds a bit more reasonable and deadly. Should I then take a different Innate? That covers Dex and End?

However, I might just stick to how it is. Considering I do want Presence if I'm going AoE heavy. I don't want to be attacked by a ton of Villains because I attacked them.

That would be Ice form. And yes it's probably easier to stat, although concept wise your fireball slinging BAMF looks like frosty the Iceman. But hey, whatever works.

I always thought Recovery was kinda silly for fire. Mostly at later levels when you're getting a lot of energy from torching things :p.

You do. But starting high means you can get a heavy alpha strike off. And filly your bar up faster, which means more heavy attacks, more often.

Dex/End replaces being able to hit more often with being able to hit harder, thanks to higher crit ratings. Just basically a difference in playstyle, but either should be viable.
