Title says it all. Which of the defensive passives are workable with almost any frame work and which should we avoid. I just took lighting reflexes and found myself very disappointed. I thought i would be dodging attacks, whole attacks, not an actual damage reducing dodge.
What works and what are broke so people know what to go for until they fix some of the others and one day we can afford to retcon.

What type of character are you looking for this passive for? Some defensive passives are better than others for very different situations and play styles.
There is a really really good guide somewhere here on the forums but I cant find it.
Essentially they are all good for different play styles and they were all nerfed rather hard recently but they are still useful.
Lightening Reflexs if I recall is good for slow hard hitting damage reduction. You still get hit by attacks that are too fast to dodge.
Invulnerability scales with your str/con and is a flat damage reduction. This is really good for consistent damage reduction.
Defiance is probably the strongest at it's peak then the rest but it has to build up. It starts really weak and as you take damage you start reducing dmg more and more. Theres great synergy with Defensive Combo enabling you with advantages to have a 25% chance to increase stacks of Defiant! buff each swing of Defensive Combo, then theres the Enrage ability which allows you to consume the defiant buff for a burst of dps. Sorry not that familiar with the previous two to list synergies. I do know since defensive combo applies defiant and refreshes it every 3rd swing alot of people take it with invulnerability for a double whammy but the draw back is that DC builds defiant! buff a bit slow on its own.
Then there is the ever popular regenration which in my opiinion is really only good for someone who expects to take consistent small damage or iinconsistent damage. The downside is it, it only heals you when your damages obvious unlike reduction which kicks in on the first damgage you take. It also isnt a burst heal so its going to return health slowly overtime. This makes it fairly strong early on but weaker the longer the fight goes on as regen falls further behind your health deficiet.
There are a couple other defensive passives for energy forms which I am unfamiliar with.
My tank is using Defiance and Defensive Combo w/ its two point advantage to apply Defiant! on each swing. I do not nor plan to pickup enrage though. For me it doesnt make since for a tank to have an ability that diminishes his defensive role for the sake of damage. I can makeup that damage elsewhere without gimping my mitigation.

Thanks for the great info, this leaves me a lot to think about. I really don't know what to choose for my single blade user. I know we are a little gimped at the moment, but due to test it looks like we will be getting a little attention. I feel like at least trying to make a build of it that works with various powers from other frames. I might go with invul, since i don't plan on being a tank but rather a support dps role.

If you're planning on being support DPS you might think about Personal Force Field. It works best for bursts of large damage followed by no damage. If you are support DPS you shouldn't be taking the main hits, but sometimes you'll draw too much aggro. With PFF you'll have a short amount of time to deal with it and then your force field will run out.
Keep in mind that Passive Defenses are still being balanced relative to each other. For that reason I wouldn't kill yourself number crunching. Take the one that you like the concept of and count on the devs to balance things out in the long run.
If you go off concept because today one passive is supposedly the "best" you may find yourself "nerfed." If you stick with your concept, you'll probably find that the nerf bat won't hurt you.
