This happens on all my characters. For some reason the power in the #2 spot wants to fire off all the time, and I can't figure out why. Sometimes when I'm running around I get the "Must have a target" message, which I think is that power wanting to trigger again. Other times I'll be in the middle of combat and the #2 power will lock into a full charge-up.
I keep thinking it's got to be a key bind issue, like that slot being triggered by a movement key or something, but I haven't been able to find anything like that. Is anyone else having a similar problem?

There's a setting that lets you set the power in #1 to auto-attack. Very handy for melee chars.
Maybe yours accidentally got set to 2? Or did you re-bind the key 1 to slot 2?

I'll have to check, thanks. I'm pretty sure it's set to #1 though, that's my energy builder and I have it set to the default of auto-attack until I switch targets. That seems to work fine.

Yea i have that problem also, and its not a keybind.

I'm not sure whether or not to be glad it's not just me. I was hoping it was something I could fix myself, but I guess it's just another of the UI issues that we'll have to wait for the devs to address.

Bump to a semi-old thread here.
Have there been any solutions found to this problem? I mean, I can get around this issue by simply not having a power slotted in the #2 slot... but that's not optimal.

Was wondering about this too. Does the auto attack have to be in slot 1 and to default key number 1? I remap all my keys to the letters surrounding my movement keys s, d, f and c for move back. So I guess I will try moving energybuild back to slot 1 and keying back to number 1. I tried moving it back to slot 1 but not assigning the 1 key to it. Thanks very much.

I was having a discussion earlier about this with another player (lookiing at you SysOpPsyche :D )regarding our observations about Power Tray Slots and what we can do with client side scripting. I came to the conclusion that your first power slot (PowerTraySlot 0) is hard coded in the game to be controlled by the pull down options at the very bottom of the Options\Control menu. Putting your energy builder in any other slot will not allow it to auto-fire, just single fire.
Additionally, you can't put any other power in the first slot, only energy builders can be slotted in there. See this post from earlier this morning.

It's not a very user friendly UI when there are many options that are hidden and unknown. I just hope that UIGuru (Dave), comes through in simplifying the UI for those that want a simpler approach.

I also have the power in slot #2 misfire some times. It always misfires in conjunction with another skill allowing both skills to be used at the same time. Slot #1 seems hardcoded for the energy builder
