First, let me just say that I'm quite disgusted with the reaction of people to today's patch.
I really don't understand it, either. The changes were many and the changes were large, sure, but the game is far from unplayable. There's really no point in whining on the forums like some kid who just had a lollipop taken away.
Instead of finding things to fuel your brooding nerdrage, why not get in-game and work out a way to be effective in the game? Sure, I suppose you could say "Because I can't respec my powers." Okay, so what's your excuse going to be when the respec changes are put in?
Whining about it does nothing but further tick you off. Sure, you're entitled to complain about something you don't like, but this is flippin' ridiculous. You all act as if it's the end of the world because you actually have to think, go slowly, and *gasps* possibly even group for once in your life. The horror!!

personally, i find people like you who accept badly tested, buggy, incompetent coding as something to "overcome" as idiotic optimists who gladly let incompetent companies anally **** them financially.
if you want people to group given them group content. Not swing a nerf hammer wildly when you admit you literally have no idea what you changed in the gamecode.

They can't possibly change their tactics up now that they're 3 days into the game and already maxed out level. Come on... let's be reasonable here.
/sarcasm off
I too am a bit sick of this community in how it's acting. I spelled it out in the link in my sig. It's if it's not one thing, it's something else. Kind of reminds me of my son who's four, and when he doesn't get what he wants he whines. A bunch of kindergartners here.

I guess this is a punishment for not going with a mini/max FotM build and going with a concept build of something I thought would be fun and fit my play style. I grouped on the hard stuff and solo'd the easy stuff prior to the patch. It was fun. Now I can't do the easy stuff and I'm likely not to get many parties when people realise how weak my char is. He was never OP'd but he was fun and viable, now he is neither.
So yeah.............. thinkling and going slowly should really apply when tackling 3 even level henchmen huh? And here I thought we were playing a Superhero MMO.

Honestly, they pushed out a buggy and completely untested patch out on Launch day of all times, with no real patch notes. They deserve every bit of ranting they got on the forums today. People were right to complain about it, and by doing so it forced the Devs to admit they needed to take a closer look at it.
So to say it did nothing is in fact, rather incorrect.

I don't know, maybe I have thicker skin than most because I went through all of the CBT but the reactions by most people seem, at best, melodramatic.
Cryptic has proven itself to me to be a good company, who admittedly makes bad decisions. Ultimately, though, they make good on their bad decisions.
I just don't think they deserve the cesspool this forum has become.

For me it really does boil down to not being able to respec. The first power I got out of the tutorial was nerfed hard. I don't disagree that it may have been overpowered and needed to be tweeked.
I spent 4 advantage points in it and cannot get any of them back. I will never use that power.
I really want to be optimistic. I am willing to adapt. But playing a character that is at a disadvantage now (points spent that will not be used and cannot be changed) is not right.
I am open to options. Some of my other abilities are still decent. I like the character. I was really trying to not have an alt until I had spent a lot of time with this character.
PM me some advice if someone wants.

I am far from a whiner. I am playing a melee character and taking 3x as much damage as I was during the head start. Because I am melee, those hits start well before I close into attack range, and it's very common to end up with additional mobs pulled in due to henchmen and villains strafing out of melee and forcing me to chase them. Previously, I could suck it up and, with a little strategy and blocking, scrape out a win. Now, my only recourse is to hit my jet boots and pray. This isn't whining, or throwing a tantrum: the patch made my character nearly worthless.
I fully support making Villains, Master Villains, and Supervillains tougher. No problem there. But when a mob of henchmen transform from a minor threat to a life-and-death struggle with every group, I think it's safe to say that, at least for some of us, there are legitimate concerns as to the balancing of this patch and the playability of the game's current build.
Things need to be fixed. Anyone willing to look beyond a "it's fine for ME, so what are YOU whining about" mentality should be able to recognize and admit this.
