Right now, we've got the designers tracking the data for the changes that were made in this morning's patch. What will help us the most right now is for you to go and play the game. I understand that you're upset over the changes that were made, but in order for us to figure out what the issue is, we want to gather hard data to support your feedback, and we can only do that with your help. Your points have been noted. There is clear dissent amongst the ranks about the changes that were made. The feedback has come through loud and clear. So please, hop into the game and play for a while so that we can get the hard evidence for our next step. Thanks, Daeke |
That's going above and beyond in my opinion.
I think you're all doing an awesome job in the game making department. I especially wouldn't worry about those who lost God-Mode -- In play testing we've seen the powers in all levels of disarray. Count me as one who actually thought the powers really needed to be fixed. If this could be called a Nerf, I'm for the Nerf :o
I specualted things would take more than a couple days to smooth out after launch - keep up the good work, I know you're busy, and this is a small bump in the road.
It may be disheartening to see so many complaints, but those who understand aren't really posting.
Thanks, Daeke

It would have helped - a lot - if he had posted that anywhere but in a thread asking for a dev comment on the lack of respecs. Like in any one of the dozens of threads discussing the changes to the powers that occurred.
Showed he was reacting to the overall fervor on the boards, and hadn't actually bothered reading the thread he posted in.
Worse, still no response about the respecs.

He's made one post the entire day. And that one post was along the lines of "please play test our drastic changes for us on our live servers". Lets hope he gets a break over there, they're pushing him pretty hard.

Sorry for OUR kneejerk reactions?
What about Cryptic's kneejerk reaction in releasing this kind of a patch to begin with!?
I can't understand the support for this patch at all. It reminds me of a political show where you always have to have two sides on EVERY issue, just to foster debate.
This patch was a heavy-handed attempt to address outlier concerns after only FOUR days of live content.
It devastated middle and marginal builds in order to tweak powerbuilds, which people all over the place are saying are still effective.
It undid the "final" XP change that was made last week, making sparse content even sparser (try the City missions now).
It drastically reduced solo-friendly play in a game that was originally marketed and developed to be soloable all the way to level 40. So long for that.
Yet my reaction is kneejerk and hasty.

Daeke is just the messenger. Anyone *****ing at Daeke will not be heard, simple as that, and even if you do convince Daeke that your concerns are valid, he's still just the messenger.
