I actually couldn't understand why people were worried about these things to begin with anyways. But hey, I can't wait till they go on sale at some point in the future. It'll make for good revenue for future development. Now if only we could figure out that development part of the equation, we'd be set :)

At least spending $50 guarantees getting one, now, so that's a... plus? |
I've seen posts where people were offering a price of 100,000 CP, or even a non-cp price of 150$, with all sorts of restrictions. They always confused me...and the people suggesting those prices would get mad when I would point out how many months you could sub for with that kind of money.

In this struggling economy, 50 bucks for a single freeform slot is suicide. I say knock off 1000 CP... or even better, cut the price IN HALF. Watch the sale boom due to how cheap they are. I know Cryptic is trying to make more money, but it is a well known fact that customers tend to buy more if the price is less and the value is great.

Actually, paying roughly 50$ for "pleasure" of levelling another toon to 40 through the same well known quests and zones, because this game has only ONE levelling patch, or grinding alerts to 40?
If you are playing with only one main character, you aren't this kind of player.
Also, freeform with silver account limit for globals is, at least in my opinion, near to unplayable (retcons, lol).
Actually, before people will start with purchasing FF and giving money to Cryptic, they really should THINK and consider this purchase.
Because after buying it will be simply too late for whining.
First - If you are silver player and you have to retcon your FF at 40, you are screwed (money limit). And you will be retconnig more than once, even if your character building skills are awe inspiring - just wait till the another Cryptic power changes. This is exactly when your FF will become a nuisance.
Second one is power tinting, this is actually quite relative. Personally, I don't give a ***it to the power tinting, but it may be important for players.
Third is more about development, less about the game. Paying this 50 bucks you can be pretty sure, that no single dime will be used to improve CO. Really, now it's pretty clear that every resource is pumped into NWN, or whatever else, and CO is left with the skeleton crew. Even with your shiny new FF you will be playing bugged game with bugged quests and bugged costumes, all new stuff will be nothing more than alerts or C-store shinies and having FF really doesn't make this more enjoyable.
*Do you really want to give them more money?

I noticed something amusing about the Freeform slot. In the webstore side of the C-Store, it's item #1337.
(BTW, this sub isn't bothered one bit by the Freeform slot.)
