# 1 Need Skill advice.

Hello.
I'm Playing a Munitions Based Freeform and i need advice on a skill.
I Want to replace my Orbital Cannon because i never use it in a fight because of the long cast time.
I need a replacement skill that activates quickly and maybe even has a low cd.
Doesn't have to be a AoE skill. I've tried Toxic Nanites - Sonic Device and Hex of suffering but they all don't really benefit from Quarry and Concentration. (Tho Hex of Suffering is quite nice.)
It would be nice if i could activate the skill between assault rifle bursts to burn some of my (excess) energy.
Any suggestions?

A quick overview of my toon
Dex // Ego / Int
Quarry
Concentration
Assault Rifle
Chaingun
Lead Tempest
Lock and Load
Bionic Shielding
Evasive Maneuvers
Implosion Engine
Circle of arcane Power
Force Shield
(Orbital Cannon)

While we're at it:
Is there a better active self Heal than Bionic Shielding for me?

Torrent of Arrows with the Relentless Recurve for a 100 foot cone KB. Only the damage scales with charge time; the KB remains static based on your Ego. You could also stick to munitions and take shotgun with breaching round since it works with concentration.

As for healing, try conviction a click heal from celestial that can critical, support drones pet from gadgetering, or even empathic healing a maintain from telepathy which is also capable of critical heals.

If you have a dodge piece, I'd recommend bountiful chi resurgence with the advantage. Keep in mind however that this particular heal can not crit, and has a noticeable reduction on all your damage when active.

I use Holdout shot, it's nice for a near always one time crit + HoT with the advantage.
Also my munitions toon is based on dodge / BCR-RR.
Dodge gear + Quarry + MD + Tread lightly (adv on Lead Tempest) is always big lulz.
(At least on crowds, it's a bit weaker against single mobs with spikes)

If you want a look, Melinda is this way.

Thank you very much,

I used Shotgun for a long time but switched it out for Gatling gun recently because i use Relentless Assault from the avenger tree which benefits gatling gun nicely.
I will try out the skills you suggested.

Thanks again

I have two question for you.

Why IDF over concentration when the latter would double the effect of the tread softly advantage you went on about on top of the normal ranged damage buff. That might just be down to preference.

Second. Why exactly did you take parry with the Elusive Monk? This particular advantage will only activate on a melee attack of which your build has exactly none. You'd be better off replacing it.

Cause.. ahem... how to put this... still needs to be retconned from when they added Concentration, but they didn't give respecs / retcons and I'm stingy? XD
Also, I had Bullet beatdown before, instead of the Sniper rifle; but they kinda...nerfed...it. ^_^
(Thanks for pointing that one, I totally forgot it, and hadn't noted to change it for the next build)

I had IDF from before as a damage reducer / theme power.

Changes just come again and again, and not being handed a free way to adapt, is kinda meh, if you ask me.

As I said, just to show an idea of a working build (though as you pointed, easily can be bettered :-p)

I don't see killer instinct listed, and unless you already have it, I'd strongly recommend it. AR is solid for single targets with mow em down and r2. Your Gatling and Tempest cover your aoe needs so another attack would be less beneficial.

Ego as a primary is better for ranged, as you can hit 50%+ crit chance with the spec tree, using dex as a secondary

Assuming you're running heroic gear or at least a new blue with dodge/avoid, you can consider bcr, tho it will reduce your damage a bit, but its a nice HoT that works with dodge after rr advantage.

Quarry + Dodge/Avoid Primary + Double Stacked Rank 3 Evasive Maneuvers + Concentration Tread Softly will put you at about 120% dodge. 100% without tread softly. See http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/r...7/120dodge.jpg In conclusion replace Parry with EM and rank it. That way you can buff your dodge while still playing as a ranged toon.

I just retconned a Munitions toon to Quarry Rank 3, Dodge + DODGE on Def Primary, Flippin, EM Rank 3 and Concentration/Tread Soft and can only get 114% Dodge chance. (Without EM, I am at ~87%) And of coursemy Avoidance is way lower...

How did exactly did you get 120% with a Dodge/Avoid Primary Def? I want to know cause my toon is still in the Powerhouse with free retcons. :)

Those numbers are the result of exactly the following

1. Quarry Rank 3 with 3 Stacks of Audacity
2. A Heroic Breastplate of Agility (Unity Primary) with a Level 5 Gambler's Lucky Gem Mod. Now there is a Unity Primary that has higher Dodge rating instead of Avoidance, but quality Avoidance Core mods are very hard to come by.
3. Concentration doubled Tread Softly on Lead Tempest.
4. Two I repeat Two stacks of Evasive Maneuvers Rank 3.

The period in which both stacks of EM are up is only a few seconds, but you can make it shorter by gearing for more Intelligence and CD reduction than I had. If you remove LT from the equation entirely you can still hit 100% dodge chance as long as you keep EM stacked.
