# 1 Steady Shot's animation

Steady Shot's animation needs a change. No one fires a pistol while allowing their firing arm to swing up near 90 degrees like that with each shot. It's ridiculous and no trained gunsman would do that to get a "steady shot".

Be it with one hand or both hands gripping the pistol, the hero should maintain it levelled while firing.

The guy below has the right idea.

Now that we're speaking about the animation anyway: When using Steady Shot and you want to use another power, it first has to complete the animation before you can do any other power (Shoot anim, recoil anim, arms back down anim). In my opinion, this really affects the flow of other Muni powers. Even more so with the alternative, Gunslinger, instantly activating powers when you want to. This should really be looked into so that Steady Shot also cancels its animation as soon as you select another power.

I dunno, it'd be nice to use a rifle as the weapon geo for steady shot, IMO >.>

I like Steady Shot's exaggerated animation. Sure, give people other options but please don't take mine away.

Relatedly, no one trained in the use of firearms would ever do Bullet Beatdown, Lead Tempest, Breakaway Shot, Two Gun Mojo or Gunslinger either if that's the determining factor for animations. Firing akimbo just in and of itself is largely laughed at among most people I know who go to the range, so to speak, and that's without all the extra stuff even being taken into consideration.

It is after all, Steady Shot, not Steady Pistol Shot, so we really should be able to use more than just pistols. I know it'd be neat on a Soldier to have that one Anime Style rifle for Steady Shot, since you can also use the same geo for Assault Rifle and Submachine Gun Burst... that way you don't have to explain why a certain part of your anatomy is so wide and loose that you can keep all these big ol weapons in there!

They probably wouldn't do a two-handed animation for the same reason that Heavy Weapons wasn't Two Handed Weapons. With all the silly proportioning you can do to a character, it's hard to get the hands to get to the right place.

A zero point advantage called "Practical Shot" or "Combat Shot" with two-handed grip on pistol, so anyone can have his/her favourite version of Steady Shot.

As we can't edit proportions for each arm separately and hands, shoulders and elbows are always in roughly this same place in relation to the length of the whole arm, two-handed stances really souldn't be that hard.
We already have a two-handed stances for rifles and machineguns.

Also, we should have all the rifle models, except western and sniper rifles, available as a weapon skins not only for energy builder but also for submachine burst. And all submachine skins available for assault rifle power. This way hero could have only a two, maybe three guns instead of carrying a whole armory.

Yeah, I mentioned it in another thread, speaking of TGM, and I'll quote Frank Castle to underscore my main issue (past the akimbo thing) "They put the sights on the top for a reason."

I get that in reality, those other powers aren't anywhere near practical.

The handling of the weapon for all those power examples is still rudimentary: Maintain control of your pistol and not let the blowback force throw your aim off, be it while somersaulting backwards in the air while firing or doing that rapidly all over the place at different angles. Two-gun Mojo has that animation of control during constant rapid-fire, I don't see why a single shot from Steady Shot has to throw the arm off that easily.

I know how it's a superhero game and how suspense of disbelief is something needed, but there should be some level of believability still. Well that's my opinion anyway.

Can't say I agree with there needing to be even some believeability considering what's presented.

I lost believeability when I saw someone cross their wrists while shooting and still hitting anything with accuracy. Same thing for all the other pistol powers except Holdout shot. There is next to no believeability in any of the pistol powers for anyone trained in firearm use. About the only believable thing is that they could actually pull the trigger. Everything else is just as ridiculous to a trained shooter as Steady shot seems to be to people who bring realistic shooting up as a pre-requisite.

In short, for believability they'd all need to be replaced. Violate all of the basics of gripping, alignment, stability, etc. in nearly all of them, not just steady shot.
