# 1 Gold to Silver Character Slots Question
04-26-2012, 01:33 PM

Hello, forum.

So, here's a description of my situation.

1) Started Silver with 2 slots.
2) Archtype-Rotation bonus: 1 more slot
3) Went Gold, received 6 slots (or whatever the number is)
4) Got 1 character to 40 while Gold, got 1 slot.

I filled up all those slots with F2P (or owned) Archtypes and now I've reverted back to Silver.

But the question is now... what happens if I delete a character? Will I lose the slot? All of the slots are Silver now.

If you delete a character you lose the slot. No warning. Its gone, forever.

So, new question. I buy character slots, and get no character slots? WTF is this?

You can buy character slots, but if you've already converted your Gold characters to Silver, they're taking up those slots. (As far as the system is concerned, you have three slots as a Silver; the rest are "virtual" slots, in which the characters actually exist, and may be playable when you've converted them, but if you delete the character, the virtual slot disappears. If you go Gold before deleting the character, the slot can be converted back to Gold.)

I managed to keep the ability to delete old characters and create new ones by virtue of not converting or deleting any more of my Gold characters after I found out about this. (Had I known about it before, I'd still have a total of eleven character slots, not nine - I had the two base slots, two I'd purchased, and one from the Anniversary, and then the six extra slots one gets for going Gold. Then I tried deleting a Gold character to remake it as a Silver, and it vanished. Then I tried converting one to Silver, then deleting it, and another slot vanished. Then I contacted Customer Support, and found out how it worked.)

This seems a bit wrong, don't you think? I spend money, 1,120 CP (which is probably one of the most expensive things in the store), and got absolutely nothing for it.

Sure you did. You got two character slots. You filled them. Since you apparently bought two extra character slots (like I did), you have a total of five as a silver, which means you're entitled to have five Silver characters. If you have more Silver characters than that, any you delete will go away, as you have filled all available slots plus some.

I could wish it were different as well, but there you go...

I mean, yeah, I understand how it works, but it's not like they specifically put a warning label on it or even SAID "this is how it works".

If you ever try to put a ticket in-game, they just give you a default response. Let's hope Perfect World's customer service is better than Craptic's.

Even if I really not allowed to get more character slots, at least gimme my money back...

In the span of a month, I bought 2 rename token and converted 2 gold characters to silver archetypes. Today I bought 2 more slots with my hard earned CP that I farmed with questionite for quite a while, and got no character slots at all. This is very wrong. All my slots were filled with unlocked characters, those slots should have unlocked.

Technically it's not. You basically have more characters than you should, so instead of denying you access to those characters at all, you're basically able to get around the slots being removed by keeping characters slotted in them.

Going gold doesn't permanently unlock the slots granted by gold, only the ones earned by hitting 40. So when preparing to go back to silver keep that in mind.

It may not seem fair, but it sure beats them locking the characters outright or deleting them entirely because you no longer officially own said slots.
