Unrestricted Queues tend to be the only real choice for ATs to compete regularly.
Telling ATs they can still kill people is still a bit deceiving. Unrestricted means facing a variety of challenges, and some ATs simply become fodder. WIth that said, ATs that will pvp will hit the unrestricted queues anyway.

Join CoPvP and ask/start some premades.
Theres usually people on plenty happy to get some good fun team vs team pvp going.
Its a little bit of an uphill fight sometimes but its fun when it works out. With a good team backing up an AT they can sometimes do just fine.........

i do this everyday xD
tbh i join more freeform pvp than AT pvp, in AT matches its 90% time teleport , in freeform matches its more about teamwork =)

I've been able to perform well as a Soldier and Cursed in many PvP gamemodes, though my Cursed is best with UTC and BASH and my Soldier is best with SH. Disciples are also as deadly as a Freeform TK Blader if built right, not to mention a Mind, while not packing Iniquity, is still a great healer, and good healers are gamechangers. If you're so inclined, you could also bring a Behemoth or a Glacier as they can do pretty decently.
I would not recommend bringing a Specialist or an Impulse. Grimoires can be useful in some situations, but they're sadly often farmbait.
I've also seen a few Fists, Masters and even a few Blades running around!
Plus, you can go 'nyah nyah nyah, I'm better than you, stick your head in doo doo' when you outperform a Freeform with an AT, but that's just silly. NOBODY would be immature enough to do that, right?

But, seriously. If you don't know what you're doing, the ins-and-outs of your Archetype and what you can bring to a team situation, do NOT queue for Stronghold. The likelihood of you getting put against a team of PvP veterans is way too high and you're gonna drag down the people who do know what they're doing.
.. then again, everyone here knows how to play the freakin' game, so I'm preaching to the choir. The people who get on my nerves (i'm level 34, i will just join this stronghold match as my blade, heeheehee) don't ever read the forums anyway. >_>

If you're successfully hitting the consoles in SH (with your hands, not your dead body) really no one cares what class you are in the end so as long as you have the consoles more often than the enemy team.
