Cryptic when are you guys going to actually do something about people using the damn /killme all the time?
You need to issue severe penalties when someone uses the /killme. For example, using the /killme would issue on your character a 20 min period where you cannot join a ZA. This solve most of the crap that has been going on with all these people that keep doing this.

What are you guys going to do about? Is it really that hard for you guys to do something simple or are you concerned more about the C-Store keeping the game on life support? People are tierd of this crap and so am I. FIX IT.

Note: ZA is not a pvp zone.

I'd just like to point out that Zombie Apocalypse actually is a PvP zone. You sign up for it through the hero game icon. You fight other players in there. You get PvP acclaim for surviving until the end, or as a zombie player, PvP acclaim for killing survivors. All of this heavily implies that is is a PvP zone whether you approve of it or not.

As for the suggestion to fix /killme, I agree. I also hope they remove the ability to relog to be a hero in case you got picked as the zombie while they are at it, because that is also an issue since it removes all the PvP aspects if the first zombie does it.

Additional alterations I'd personally like to see includes forcing a killed player to respawn as a zombie after a certain time; if there is no healer, or the healer does not get to them in time, conceptually it strikes me as odd that they wouldn't rise again as a zombie.

Good idea. Let's just make it more harsh, like 2 hours.

While we are at it, let's also implement the exact same thing with relogging. Since relogging is an obviously much more serious offense, I'd say a 4 hour ban period from ZA would be sufficient.

Agree to these terms, and I agree to the /killme penalty.

ZA is a PvP zone...there's this feature in it where players can kill other players.

There was one more thing...

While I agree that fixing /killme should be done, there is still the possibility of people to just dive into the largest NPC zombie cluster they can find with their defenses detoggled. Moreover, I am not certain avoiding this is at all possible.
It is that route I've been using myself, on those occasions I do switch to zombie. I suicide instead of /killme since I'm under the impression that the latter is intended only to be used when stuck in geometry or similar.

Regarding suiciding, I limit myself to only do so when there's no player zombie around (I generally wait five minutes to see if one shows up) or a PvP beginner got picked as the zombie and is farmed ruthlessly. Otherwise, I fight until the zombies have been held off or I'm lying face-down in the snow. And at that point, I'll join the zombies since that's the way the ZA gameplay scenario was set up.
On a side note, I find it somewhat depressing that my criteria for suiciding are met so frequently.

If I may play Devil's advocate here for a moment, I think his "Note" probably was sarcasm but the rest of it sounded rather familiar. Of course it's a PvP zone, that should be obvious (if not, then well, you'd be an idiot I guess). I think what he was trying to imply, but completely failed to get across as his point, was that it's more of a farming zone now than a PvP zone, which I think you can admit is kind of true. That's just a guess, but I think that's what he was getting at, lost in translation.


To the people who are immediately flaming the topic starter, have you played ZA recently? Frequently enough to see trends? Played with different builds? I wonder...

I don't understand this particular minority group on the forums thinking relogging is terrible (which I'd agree with), but intentionally going zombie as a group (not just one person abusing /killme, if it was just one it wouldn't really be a big deal) the moment the match starts so they can end it in under two minutes is any better. Did you know that people gradually fill up the instance, starting with a smaller group? Can you see why having extra zombies right at the moment the match starts would severely imbalance the game? Frankly, UTC cage matches are much more fun than ZA is at levels 31-40 now days... At least as they fill up the ratio of players stays auto-balanced.

Less be bluntly honest with each other here, ZA is frequently full of people either farming Acclaim because they want the best gear on the market, or full or people who are just trolling other players who are farming for the lulz (and then say "hey it's just PvP" as if that is a golden waiver for any common sense of fair play; the trolls go both ways, reloggers and people who abuse /killme)

If you can justify to me why one exploit is any better than the other, then please, by all means, enlighten me with your logic & reasoning.



PS: I said it way back when they very first added those Hero Games vendor gear as the top gear in the game. Unless they added something equivalent in UNITY vendors, Nemesis vendors, or crafting; it's just going to get worse and worse and PvP'ers aren't going to like the farmers and the farmers aren't going to like the PvP'ers. I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall, and I've been saying it since they added that change in a patch. It's could still be easily mitigated too. Just get the freaking crafting update done and the promised updated UNITY & Nemesis gear...

Thats quoted right from the original october 2009 patch notes which introduced Bloodmoon.

So um the devs themselves kinda disagree with you on the whole ZA is not pvp thing.
