Not to be a pessimist, but it feels like Champs is dying. And while we could endlessly speculate and argue, would it be possible to get a better idea of how things are going from someone in the know? Yes I know we have the field reports, which are a gleaming ray of light in what feels like a rather hopeless night, but now that I am capable of subbing, should I even bother? Or will as many have said Champions be closing up shop soon?
tl;dr -
Has Champions become Titanic III, or is this just a lull?
(Also, more non-costume, non-comic, open world content would be lovely.)

Perfect World's fiscal year should be over, once they publish their yearly financial information. That should provide you with the information as to whether or not CO is dying or not.

Maybe this is not judgment day, but sadly and surely, the day of reckoning is coming upon this MMO. Many people had high hopes and now that bigger and better have arrived, there is no reason to hope since others are delivering something more than the silence we get here.

Sales in any given quarter for an MMO don't reflect how the next quarter or year will turn out.
CO has no advertising. No Positive press.
No mass of gamers anywhere is looking forward to its release, update, f2p crossover, or anything.
Its stagnated.
Its like they don't know what they have or how to sell it. I've been holding out hope that I'm wrong.
Maybe the anniversary will see some repackaged fresh new look.
Either way six month sub costs as much as a weeks lunches for the guy that cleans the toilets there.
If the games going to go down, at least let it go down clean.

I'm rambling a bit, but for most I've polled, it feels too static here. Even the comics are a mixed gift, new content yes but except for the five folks max you can team with, you are just doing another instanced map. Perhaps the new zones will bring a bit of that adventurous spirit that use to fill this game back.
Well, at least I do not feel stupid about asking for new content aside from silly things like cosmetics now. Even now this is not the end all, always hope in the darkest of hours and all that.

They will likely continue, should the money keep flowing. if it does not, they will change their formula, like the grab bags being the definition of "Quanity over quality."
For the price of a gamble, you will end up buying alot more of them, due to likely not getting what you want on the first shot, or just wanting to have extra pieces to sell.
I have a feeling it is also to share such cash-costumes with silvers, being the items able to be sold on the AH.

Well, it is 2012. It's like Y2K all over again.

Going to Caprice/Sher's is a joke anymore because after the release of Hideouts, the social rp more or less has died- no need to meet new folks in the club when you can faff about in the penthouse.
