# 1 T2 Cage Match...Good Times.

A friend and I regularly make toons for T2 Cage matches. It's a fun bracket and usually has a lot of really cool people that we can joke around with and generally have a good time. We both have been away for a few months, and longer than that from COPvP, so last night we both brought our A gamers for tier 2 utc.

We won our first few matches very easily nearing the 15-0 mark...and then the spams came....YOU GUYS ARE CHEATERS, WE AREN'T COMING OUT ANYMORE AND FIGHTNING A BUNCH OF CHEATERS...really...and in all caps...just like that. Then people start dropping once they see their opponents, start yelling more "cheater" remarks, then leave, and so on.

First off, we didn't just get to 11 and queue up with our scrubby toons...we actually thought out some builds, made them work, then dumped a few G in the AH for relatively decent gear. My t2 guys usually border on 5k hp and his about the same...We also go in prepared with the works, like heal packs and shields and whatnot.

But instead of thinking that someone might have come more prepared, it resorts to calling people cheaters if they win.

My question is: Is this what COPvP has become? If you lose in pvp, is it automatically because the other guy cheated? Seriously? We had multiple toons calling us cheaters by the time we were done last night?

To me, that's borderline harrassment, and normally, I wouldn't care anything about it, but with all of my toons sharing the same @global name, it could start to impact my play on other toons, should it keep happening.

I mean, if the games have become that serious, I'll just stay out...it's not like I'm going to break any records getting my toons to 40 through the hero games...even if I win every match...We just like the t2 bracket...it's fun...or it was...

Just curious what the majority of the pvp community's thoughts are on things like this.

I'd say the general PvP opinion is that if you're going 15-0, you should probably break up your team because you're not providing good games. It's not cheating to have optimized builds, but premades, unless facing other premades, are somewhat antisocial.

If we had a full group doing that, I could understand...but it was just us 2 queuing together. I don't consider us 2 a premade unless we are the only 2 on one side in the first place, of course, that did happen a few times when it was us 2 vs. 3-5 on the other side.

I was in the T2 matches last night. I noticed the person complaining about cheaters in all caps. I'm not going to name names, but I will say he was obnoxious, and it's possible that he was a young child. He was making this complaint well before the match even got to a score that could be considered one-sided (he first started when a 3 on 3 match was at about 6 to 2 against him.

This same person was sitting in ZA maps holding block, and not participating, just teleporting away to the map edge when attacked. I, and several other people took the time to report his behavior, and I hope you did too.

I sort of took it personally, and that may have been a mistake. I do not take defamation of character lightly. I defame myself enough by some of my posts on these forums. When he couldn't tell me what I did that made him think I was cheating, and chose instead to reply to my inquiry with all caps and a lot of 'LOL's, I snapped, and spent most of the evening finding him in ZA and beating him.

The premade effect is strong, even with only 2 players, provided you're both competent and aren't playing gimped heroes. I used to run T2 with a buddy too, and we'd win I'd guess upwards of 90% of the time if there weren't other teams joining.

Two main reasons:

- Your team will fill up first, so you'll usually outnumber the other team if they're not willing to wait (which they rarely are). Matters less if the matches are starting 5 v 5, or players are willing to sit out to make it even (which they usually aren't).

- Once a team gets ahead the losing team rarely regroups, so that even if the teams even up they'll keep losing.

- Many players will quit the match if they start to lose, exacerbating any initial numbers imbalance.

- The score still shows players who've left the match, so it's tricky to see how many players are on the other team in the heat of battle. It can easily seem like the teams are even when they're not.

- Having two good players on a team ups your average team power substantially, especially considering that some heroes are archetypes, and that some people insist on joining with level 11 and 12 heroes.

Basically, if you want more frequently balanced matches you have to join individually unless other players are team joining. Sure it's nice to game with your buddy, but that can be as much fun being on opposing teams. ;-)

It's either cheating, lag, exploits or hacks. Sometimes they get creative and accuse you of lag hacks.

If I am rolling in a concept toon I just shrug it off. If I have a PvP centric toon then I will warn them that my build is full of PvP cheese and if they arn't built to counter, they will die.

Some people don't realize just how screwed some AT's are when they enter the arena against a freeform PvP build.
