-Sigh- Sorry Kenpo, seems I excited the beast rather than quiet it with some humor....
Anyway, regardless of who gets some color or title or whatever, just wanted to show some appreciation to (one of) the most active builders when it comes to "hold people's hand", what I commonly refer to as just helping.
If some want to call that leg-humping, fine. Maybe that's why kids today can't even say thanks... Wouldn't want people to think they are sucking up just by showing some gratitude...
@Man.Of.Light: Sorry, not what I meant. I just say that if someone is good enough to do all those things you mention, doing them is its own reward. Here, we have Kenpo (among others, yes), who tries to do what very few (elitists) people deign do: helping the less knowledgeable. For that, and only that, his work deserves a thank you.
If that Kali person made as much guides, accessible to a "base noob" like myself, I'd be more than happy to go and /sign a color title for him/her. It's not about the person it's about the work done for the community as a whole.
Again sorry for the misunderstanding.

Edit: Its attitudes like that, that keep me from helping people, hide my builds and keep secrets to myself.

Honestly the people you mentioned are great assets to this game and deserve accolades for it. I think you will find that their words carry a lot of weight here. I know that I follow their posts. Falchoin in particular is always worth reading. Ive been participating int hese forums for a bit less than two years now and have yet to find a single situation where I dont agree with him wholeheartedly.
Kenpo put together a resource for forum goers, some of whom expressed gratitude for his efforts. The only, "reward," that was suggested was something that would only be seen by forum goers. There isnt really any goal to advance a clique going on here. Someone did something nice for some people, and they said thanks.

I've spoken to Kali a few times and Falchoin is among my friends along with many others mentioned and not mentioned in this thread. As has been said, this thread has nothing to do with any of that. You folks want to debate who's the best? Feel free...in your own threads. See this thread? I typed it to help people, period. See those builds I posted? I typed those to help people, period. See the freeform directory? I keep organizing and adding to that to help people, period. See the guides Falchoin put up in his sig? Or WillBlack? Or Pulsewave? Or Prime-8? Or Rune? Or S-Prime? Or Empyreal10? Or........................ See a common thread? None of us give a %$#% who is the best as that's not the point. Perhaps you could consider that. All this is doing so far is proving my fiancee right when she watched me type this latest guide and said "someone somewhere will find a way to take exception to what you're doing for people." This is making me regret working on this. |
Save the best for your finacee.... ;)
Also, I think your guide should get a sticky.

Yeah, Sticky this and give him the title of Mr. Wants-to-be-a-god, er, I mean, Build Sensei.
Hey, given the Demon Key lingo, the first one works. :)
