This should be a simple answer, and hopefully a developer will respond, I'd just really like to know, before I waste anymore of my precious time and/or put my fist through my screen in frustration.
For every Destroid leading up the jet, the strategy is to get within range of 100 feet and destroy the console. For the Destroid at the jet, regardless of difficulty level, the Destroid begins to to activate at probably 300 feet more or less, or in other words, well beyond the others, which makes me ask, is this a bug? Additionally, click targeting the console is, I dare say, nearly impossible, and since, like most objects, you get no endurance regen as you try to destroy it, this is even more tedious as the last 5 seconds are all energy builder.
This makes it, for anything other than Normal (because on Normal you can destroy the things quickly enough, regardless of range), impossible to do this part of the mission solo without
a) kiting the guy around for maybe upwards of an hour and sending wave after wave of bomb technicians in
b) killing the destroid, another hour or more, if it's possible at all at the level 14 I'm currently working on it at, (I've had him as low as 80%).
or c) maybe having the "one build" that happens to have a single damage ability that can destroy the console before the power up, of which I have yet to discover.
So, bug or not, please advise. I'd prefer not to spend another single second of my time being ****ed off and frustrated, if this is "by design" and thus, something I won't bother with again, given that I've already done this crappy mission a few times on my multiple higher level toons. I have no desire whatsoever to spend hours asking for groups to do a repeatable missions, or spend upwards of an hour dying and playing "kite" games to do one stupid part of this long drawn out mission just to hope to "luck out" and get Dark Speed, which has a low enough drop rate to be frustrating in and of itself.
Please let me/us know, as either way I'm fine with it, I just don't like having my time wasted, and yes I did search the forum, and found nothing related in the first 20 threads or so.

Yeah, at low levels, it's a pain in the biatch to do those things with a character that isn't statted for Rec and End. I've stopped doing low level runs on characters that aren't.

I would guess bug , as the jet's Overseer has crazy aggro range but there is a simple workaround .
1. Destroy the tank and npc's that patrol near the ramp . Pull them so as not to activate the Overseer .
2. Once done , send the bomb detail to destroy the jet , but do not accompany them . Hang back . They will destroy the jet .

Opps sorry good question .
All of em really but :
Normal- Very Hard you have enough time to get to the the console and nuke it . But you don't need too to do this to blow the jet to pieces . You can ignore it , pull tank and npc's , kill em , send bombsquad in and wait . It will complete and you can move on to the charging station portion of the mission .
Elite- Forget it . For all intents and purposes ignore the console , pull the tank and other adds out of the way and dust em . Getting close to the console with the detection mechanics being what they are on Elite setting will activate the Overseer . If you are specced to take one down fine , but it isn't necessary .

Ah cool. Currently I skip the second Overseer, it would be cool if I didn't have to deal with the third. I run it on Very Hard because I can't one-shot the first console at low levels.

You don't even need to kill the tank. It and its guard escort only spawn if y ou move as far as teh road. If you just talk to the bomb technician and go no farther north but immediately cut over to the virus guy and then head to the charging station, no tank/guards will spawn and teh bomb technicians will happily destroy the jet while you start clearing out the charging station. (You'll have to go back for the computer virus after the jet is destroyed, horrors).

Thanks for the info, but my experience has differed so far.
On normal I can just stand there, on Hard, Very Hard, or Elite, the bomb technician and his "posse" do not survive the initial assault, or the second, or the third, if I just stand there and wait, even if I destroy the tank and guards ahead of time...
This is not to say that they don't get it done eventually, but I have to send wave after wave at the jet until they finally get it finished, or alternatively, kite and clear stuff with a few deaths until they finally get it done.
Although maybe the failure is triggered by me pulling the tank/guards near the overseer in the first place, so I'll try the "just send them and forget them completely" tactic next.
Either way, it's kind of silly that the strategy is different and/or not to fight at all, for this particular encounter. Smells like bug to me, but I never know what's a bug and what's "functionality" when it comes to AI and encounters, unless it's some obvious falling through the world, untargetable, or takes no damage issue.

Once you finish with the second Overseer and as you head to the third (jet) portion, don't go down the road, that spawns the tank crew. Go to the left and skirt the buildings...
I have no issues and I run this on Very Hard with teen level toons trying (so far unsuccessfully) to get a low level Dark Speed. The only time I need to do anything is if I accidently spawn the tank. If I do, I just kill the tank and crew as far away from the Overseer as I can so I don't trigger it. Then just talk to the guys and hang out while they blow up the jet. The Overseer wont even trigger...
Once I send the guys, I usually just run over to the next quest mob and wait until I get the completion...
It is indeed borked, but I think Cryptic has decided that the work around (of doing nothing) allows you to continue the quests and has placed a low priority on any fix, if it's on their radar at all...
