I'm new to the Champions Online scene and I'm looking to get into the game and a little bit of PvP. Is the Shadow/Ego Blade build a viable freeform for PVP? A little bit of insight would be appreciated.

Truth is most active Pvpers use rather overused combos,theofore you might have an hard time with any build but those.Also,it would be easier if you would give a more basic build design.Mostly i would think that TK/Darkness builds would focus around Con/Ego or Dex/Ego,based on each powersets Superstats(end and rec would also be important),you would probably play in Guardian for both ranged and melee damage.Could be an interesting concept.tho.I might be able to give more info tomorrow.Hope somebody notices this post and be able to help out more.Ive used Darkness lots but not much TK altho anyone seems to use it since the Disciple patch.

just a small thing, there is no THE build, just a build.

still darkness/ego blades can be a decent combo thanks to the fact that they are in the same damage set (paranormal).

I think this might be a decent build but I'm no expert, other people have more expereance with PVP then I.

I'm not really looking for "the" build, just one that is viable and where I won't see my face on the floor all the time, solely on bad build choices, but I guess it's all part of trial and error huh?

Oh, TK Blade PvP Build. Yeah, check the link in my sig for some inspiration. If you want to discuss specifics, feel free to leave me a post or send me a PM. A post would probably be better though, so other people can find new build solutions too (I'm all for the proliferation of information).

As an aside, if you're planning to use Shadowform, I highly recommend pairing it with some stealth stacking -- specifically R3 Smoke Grenade. It's one of those power combos I find myself crippled against, usually.

Actually TK/Darkness, more specifically TK Blades + Shadow Form, was one of the few options possible for the original TK blade player, way back before we got the TK pass. Nowadays, nobody really uses it anymore since the native passives in the TK set, Ego Form and ID Mastery, are usually considered more desirable.

Even just after the melee pass Shadowform was largely phased out in favor of Ego Form. Shadowform is still possible of course (which is why I highlighted the stealth synergy), but if you're planning to go for a balls-to-the-wall DPS TK Blader, Id Mastery is the superior choice.

Yea that thread you made a while back helped! I'm going to tinker with that Dark/TK Blade build a bit, but I've decided to make my main a MA/Dark. I kind of like it. I'll post the build I went for with it and the Dark/TK Blade build as soon as I get off work so you can tweak it/and/or help me with it.

what if I put the Shadow form plus a lot of stealth stuff, including the ice pet, and a little bit o hold ( maybe ego storm or just geyser with a stun) - and use ego for damage? SS dex and ego ? would that be a good PVP build ?

You pretty much posted the basis of a permastealth build. Works very well with ranged TK. Extremely annoying to fight.
