Remember way back when, during the Demonflame Free for the Weekend thing, they gave a bunch of devices. I had tossed them (The healing boost, the XP boost, Sidekick: Pistolwhip and I forgot what the fourth itam was) into my mail and sent it to myself (@TKane39K) so that I could grab them with one of my alts.

Well, I had completely forgot to get the items with said alt, let it sit in my mailbox, and when I finally went to claim the items, I got a "Timeout loading items" error on the mail. So I said "It's okay, if I delete the mail, it'll send the items back to my toon who made the mail." So I deleted the mail, thinking that the boost items would be sent back to me.

They never were.

I guess this is less of a question and more of a warning. Don't let items sit in your mail for too long. Otherwise they rot and go bad and you'll never see them again.

Last time that error happened to me, it involved retrieving items with a timer that had expired (anniversary water balloons).

I'm sure these didn't have a timer on 'em. They were devices from the C-Store. The Healing 4 Pack, the 20% Team XP boost, the Resurrect 4-pack and the sidekick Pistolwhip.

I'm pretty sure those were only valid for that weekend. At least people who hadn't claimed them couldn't do so after the weekend was over.

Most likely they expired in the mailbox (poor things).

Yeah, it sucks. Hopefully someone else will learn from my mistake. If at least one person benefits from this, I won't feel so bad.

i still have mine. it's been a bit since i last checked, but if i remember correctly there's no timer on them- excepting maybe the sidekick one. i'm not on steam, so i didn't get that one.

Pistolwhip only had the normal 1hr game time limit.

The items just died in the mail system.

I did the same but mine are alive and well still in the mail system, I think you had that bug where items timeout on loading but selecting another mail then going back to it cures it. I think deleting the mail may have been a mistake.

A big mistake, yeah. I realize it now. Wish I knew then what I know now. Oh well. Hindsight is 20/20, they say.
