PA+Force, Energy Hog Living Large!

I posted a while back asking for help powering up a real energy hog - Power Armor + Force (incl. Force Cascade) + IDF + pets.
Well, the results of that discussion are in, and my energy hog, Renegade 2.0, is my first character to reach level 40!

Here's what I ended up with:

Renegade 2.0 Lvl 40

SS: CON, INT
CON: 183, INT: 166, REC: 133, END: 83
Health: 7,784 Energy: 128/199
Role: Guardian
Travel: Flight Rank 3, Tunneling Rank 2

Offense:
Electric Sheath, Rank 2
Force Bolts, with Energy Refraction
Frenzy, Rank 3
Mini Gun, Rank 3
Chest Beam, Rank 2
Munition Bots, Rank 2
Force Cascade, Rank 3
Defense:
SS: CON
Defiance, Rank 3
Inertial Dampening Field, Rank 3
Force Shield, wih Force Sheath
Protection Field, Rank 2
Resurgence (~3000 pts)
Palliate, Rank 2 (~2000 pts)
Energy:
SS: INT - effects energy directly, stat scales MSA
Defiance - enegy on hit
Molecular Self-Assembly - Energy unlock
Electric Sheath - adds energy and consumed by Force Cascade
Energy Refraction Shield - consumed by Force Cascade
Forces Shield - energy on block
Protective Field - energy on hit
The Offense is excellent against nomal-sized mobs and bosses, but very weak against surrounding hoards.
The Defense is excellent, I never need my 2nd heal unless I'm doing something really wrong (like a bar ful of Dogz all at once).
And ENERGY..... is wonderful - never an issue! I do have to watch the bar, but not wait for it! The only thing I wait for is the 90s cooldown on electric sheath.

I am considering some changes - the Mun-bot twins could go to Rank 1 and Palliate (Rank 2) could go away - I need to improve vs surrounding hoards (15+).

I'd love to hear any comments or suggestions!

:)

i'd like to duel this sometime and test it out, some builds seem great on paper until you actually see it in action:)

What exactly are you planning to do with Force Cascade given your CON/INT SS?

You won't be able to alpha with it (not enough juice to charge at the fight's outset, not even with INT and Catalysts). And midfight, you'll get interrupted, or dodged half the time.

He's very strong defensively and against bosses - I don't PVP much myself, so don't duel well with any of my toons - getting a little better...

I Alpha strike with it just fine, using Electric Sheath, also my END and REC are both high. In combat, I usually use minigun+chest beam pulses and shoot the cascade when I get a refrction shiled or the electric sheath comes up again, sometime I get interrupted - but not that often. Nice thing is it does a whole lot of damage and knock a group far away - only the heavies live thru the initial blast. Vs bosses, I use it over and over, vs rushers I tap it.

Suprised you didnt go Chest beam + Concussors. It's an extremely powerful PA. combo. Macro chest beam into the Concussor button to always fire a tap before the Concussors go off, then a 2nd button to handle full charge Chest beam. The finisher is usually to fire off Shoulder launchers once the concussors are on.

I have a character that ONLY uses Force Cascade, and it takes most the build to just get the energy to fire that thing off non-stop. Even then, a good Chest Beam/Consussor build out performs the Force Cascade, since it can fre on the move, and the constant concussor knock back interrupts a lot of attacks.

FC is a fun power, but in a PA build you can do a lot better ditching it.

If you have any energy issues, both IDF and the Bots drain energy.

.
Agreed! FC is a HECK of a lot of fun - that's why I use it. Your suggestion would be more effective, but I enjoy FC way too much to drop it.
:D

Yeah, the IDF and Bots are a non-issue, plenty of Eng to go around.
