I too stop around level 20 on many toons.

That's because given a full day to play I usually end up at 19-20 if I made a new toon that morning. I usually play different toons each session. As ideas come to me they get made and end up at 20ish level waiting to be played later if they have held my interest or get deleted when a new idea pops into my head for a character (or sometimes respeced to a completely different idea for a character).

I often pause at 20, and a character either goes "up or out" about then. Either I go forward and level more, if the character is fun, or if playing them isn't fun then they get deleted to make way for another alt.

I usually split the early 20s between the desert, MC, and Canada. I'll finish up the cowboys / viper arcs to reach the low 20s, then I usually switch to MC to clean up some arcs, then do the Paintball run arc and the Gadroon arc in Canada in the early 20s, do Stronghold / Area 51 / Qularr Crash Site after that, and then transition from arcs at those sites back to Canada for the run through the late 20s, until it's time for Monster Island. I usually skip Project Awakenings, as the "least fun" arc in the set of 20ish arcs--at least for me.

Has Lemuria been revamped? I've read a fair amount of hate for it, but I find it to be quite fun--not the Lemurian Crisis, though, as I don't find that fun.

I personally start to lose interest when my character reaches the low 30's. From what I can figure out, the greatest appeal for me is choosing new powers and the general shaping of the character. Yet once you're above 32nd, you've only got x2 more powers to choose from. By that point, I've normally pre-selected those powers based on how my general build has turned out. While I will still eventually level them all to 40th, the mid to upper 30's feel like a kind of dead space to me (regardless of the fact that I love the visual atmosphere of the New Orleans styled Vibora Bay).

The early 20's are tough for my toons. It's usually one of two problems:

1. I find that I don't enjoy how the toon is playing (the idea was better than the reality), OR
2. I dislike the big ARGENT mission in MC (grindy) and Project Awakening.

If I like how a toon plays well enough to get over the early 20's hump, it'll probably (eventually) get to 40.

Level 20 is usually the holding point for most of my alts too.

Not personally no, but like anything if I get bored of working on something for too long I'll swap and have a go on another thing until I fancy returning to the toon i had previously got bored of.

Unless I have a ton of fun with the toon, I stop playing them around level 25.

Admittedly, it would be nice if there were clearly seperate leveling paths you could take.

So when you level up your alts you can easily pick one path and it continues on until you end, and for another alt you choose yet another path.

Since you can level fairly quickly, it would make things more interesting instead of repeating missions.

I realize they added a lot of lowbie mission content since release, but even when I tried the other month it still felt like I was going through the same sequence of contacts (with just a couple of extra pit stops).

I'm with you here. Most of my toon time starts to diminish when I'm hitting the tail end of the Burial Butte missions - just do not look forward to SOOOO much Monster Island (yep, skip Lemuria - my characters aren't swimmers.) There is a brief respite back to Canada for the Bigfeet/Tilingkoot then it's either MORE Monster Island or finishing up in Vibora Bay (with those ENDLESSSSSSS hallways).

It seems like a lesson could be learned from the mission/area shake-up that occured during the F2P conversion - suddenly MC became the first area, and the Desert Crisis got beefed up. This left the Canadian Crisis (and often early Canada) left in the dust.

What if certain area levels got moved around? It would be great if the Demon/Destroid portion of MC got bumped into the 30's so there was SOME MC action post 27-28 (although... argh, this would mess with the Destroyers Lab and Mega-D open missions... hmmm, help me out here).

The early Canada missions could be bumped up to post-Desert... then the other parts of Canada similarly bumped (there is a LOOOONG stretch of Canada from the Paintball camp through Project Awakening through the Gadroon through the Argent Preserve through the Officer Candy missions that could be broken up and moved around in the levelling process...)

If Snake Gulch was bumped up to the levels of Stronghold, and Stronghold made it into the 30's, then we'd have level 30+ missions in EVERY area, making it seem less of a dead-end XP-wise forcing all Monster Island/Vibora Bay to end it. (Conversely, couldn't MI and VB show up EARLIER in the level process to offer some different routes? Seems like there's enough in VB to have two level areas...)

Does this make sense to anyone else?
