Hi there,

I've just re-subscribed after a period away from the game and I've just booted it up for the first time since subbing again. I've run into two problems:

1) The first thing I wanted to do was to delve straight into the Character Creator and see what new and make a new character - I figured that if I started a fresh character I'd be sticking around longer! - but alas, when I press 'create', the game starts to move to the Creation Pages but doesn't quite get there, and I'm left with the rooftop background and nothing else... and it just stays there.... (I even left it for ten minutes to see if it would get there eventually. Nope, nada).

2) This is a more run of the mill issue, after giving up on the creation, I felt that I might as well get on with an existing character so I went for my main and... the game spent forever on 'retrieving maps' (or something like that) and then gave up with a "connection to server has timed out" (or something like that).

Help!

I should have added that he game worked fine when I last played, on this very laptop, so it's probably not my laptop's capabilities that are at fault (it is at fault for having to run the game on low settings however!).

That's not your full DxDiag file. That's just a screenshot of a little bit of the information in it. I'd like to see the whole thing. You have to click the button to "save all information".

The nettest results are all over the place, and some of them aren't good. Are you locally on a wireless Internet connection? This game really doesn't like unstable connections, and that could be the cause of your problems.

DxDiag doesn't know what is a problem and what isn't, for the most part. It can tell if the program failed to run entirely. But if you're running ten year old hardware, DxDiag won't know that there's anything wrong with that.

I got this laptop last May, so it's certainly not old... and I'm actually on a wired connection!

Here we go, but I don't know what could be wrong, since the game worked last year and my hardware nor drivers have changed since then!
