I am looking for a RP super group but I have noticed that each of them have like 50+ members. It doesn't help with 'role play' if you ask me. What super group had 4 super speed guys, 15 fliers, 7 teleporters, and 6 super strength brawlers? None of them. Why call it a "role playing" group when there are several people that can do the same role?


I would like to either start a RG up or find one that is already made. I want diversity. Maybe like 10-15 members max. If we have one person who uses tunneling, why have another? Some powers are used for multiple characters like flight. But usually it is limited to maybe a 3rd of the team. Hell when you look at the 90's X-Men cartoon, you had 9 main people and only 2 of them could fly.


Now I know that people are going to respond with, "Well people are not online all the time" or "How would you be able to get a higher rank with so little members" and so on. I don't care to fill up the roster. I can see the whole not having a lot of people on at the same time aspect. But then again let’s go back to the X-Men cartoon. There have been several episodes and stories of 2-3 of them doing things and everyone else is nowhere to be found.

I know this sounds like a lot to ask for but I for one would love to be a part of a team like this. Is there anyone out there the same way?

I hear you. I was in one really good group like this, but the leader bailed and since nobody could do anything the group just died and moved on. Had a cool little run though. I miss that.

Eh.. I consider a character to be more than their abilities. Roleplaying for me is more about the characters. I don't get bent out of shape if someone else has similar powers.

This is the main reason I haven't rp'ed yet. I prefer small groups.

True a character should be more than just powers, but to me it is more interesting to watch a group of people who are different and come together to achieve a goal. Where one member may be weak against something another would be strong. That kind of thing.

Role Playing groups arent neccessarily for the idea of having one of each type of super hero, but rather for a people whol like to play the role of the super hero they have created with other role players.

You're idea is cool though... sort of a super group that is a super team like in the comics. X-Mean or something like that.

Hey I read your post and understand where you're coming from. I've been looking for a decent RP group for some time now. If you're starting one up, I'd like to join. I RP both male and female characters depending how I fell that day:). I'd like to make just one character who is totally just for RP from start to finish. All I ask is that when you're online your character IS you however you want to play them regardless so asking who you are in real life I think detracts from the RP experience. That said, I hope that you or someone would make an X-Men type RP group and not make it so big. Like in X-Men you could break them up into teams like X-Men, X-Factor and X-Force with different ways of doing things but moving toward the same goal. I'd even think wearing a uniform would be cool. Just a thought.

Well I see what you say about a uniform however I don't think one would be needed. X-Men are like the only ones with a themed outfit. Avengers and Justice League don't have uniforms.
