I don't understand enhancements. I learned two...amalgamated and and life support...but I can't seem to build them anywhere....do they just automatically apply? If so, how many enhancements can I learn?

You will eventually learn to craft items that have custom enhamcents, like amalgamated and life support. When you choose to craft an item than can have custom enhancements, you will get drop down menus where you can chose from the custom enhancements that you know. On primary items, you can have a major and a minor enhancement. On secondary items, you'll just have a minor enhancement.
