I posted this thread in FTP forums, and then realized that much of CO doesn't have access to that forum... so I am posting it here to get your thoughts as well! :)

I haven't seen anyone request this, though I am sure that there are many out there that would agree... WHERE ARE THE FAT GUYS? THE BIG UGLIES? I have scarcely even seen a slightly out a shape hero...

Heroes are made of all kinds. It is not just those that are athletically superior that decide to done a mantle and stick it to the bad guys. What about:

Joe Potato: All his life Joe was bum. A couch bum. Or potato. All of the above would describe his life. He did nothing but sit in front of his TV, eating bon bons and lamenting the choices he had made for himself. Then one day, while watching a particularly depressing episode of CNN (something involving a "madame of the night" named Palin and an evil egotistical megalomaniac called "Beck" bent on world domination and imprisonment for all those poor, under-privledged, or ^gasp!^ overweight) Joe decided enough was enough. It was time to make a stand. Angrily, and with much effort both mental and physical, Joe flung his box of bon bons at the TV. Someone has to make a stand for those that are unable to stand for themselves. That person was to be Joe. He was not sure how, but he must do something. Now, if Joe could just discover a way off of the couch... Tune in next week to learn more about how Joe plans to go about thwarting Beck and his evil lackey, Palin, and to see if he every makes it off that couch!

Olga: THE fat lady: Olga had a beautiful voice. One that could stop traffic, inspire birds to chime in , and cause all near by to stop and listen. Time it self stood still to enjoy the grace that was her song. So beautiful was her voice, that many would travel from all around, braving the terrible snow filled mountain passes and traversing the rocky an broken path to her quaint village located deep within the Andes just for a chance to hear the lyrical inspiration that inspired so. Many of these travelers were young men, intent upon meeting with the one whose voice was beauty incarnate, and professing there (ahem, at times impure) desire for the maiden. For those that made the trek, and were lucky enough to be granted an audience with Olga, where shocked to find that such a voice come from one so... obtuse. So obese was she, that she barely could wobble to the front of the reinforced stage to give the performance that the audience had came to see. The act of moving from the back of the room to the stage was exhausting just to watch. The friction alone from thigh upon thigh rubbing was so great that no one could sit in the first row of seats due to the heat. Sweat poured from every single one of her glands. A lycra body suite had to be worn by her in an attempt to wick away as much of the sweat as possible, and to prevent it from spraying out into the stands. And the jiggling.. OH LORD THE JIGGLING!... just make it stop already! So many had to avert there eyes from the abomination that was once a person to keep from loosing there lunch. But then the singing started, and it was as if all was right in the world again. Gone were the initial gasps of shock, to be replaced by silent appreciation. No more were jaws gaping in disbelief, but rather were now smiling in serenity. All in attendance lost themselves to song, even those that did not understand the words. Then, as suddenly as it had begun, it was over. And Olga was gone. The few who are fortunate enough to witness these performances, left with a profound understanding that a divine hand had played a role, and with reason. There was a lesson to be had. Beauty is often found in the most unlikely of places. It was this very divine interaction, that forced Olga out of her home and into the open world. For she had a purpose to serve, with an important message to impart to the masses... True Believers! Check back next week to follow Olga: THE fat lady's further adventures and learn why she is called "THE fat lady" (other then the obvious, of course)... For when Olga sings, its all over.

FEEL FREE TO POST YOUR OWN ANTI-ATHLETIC HEROES!

Devs, these budding ideas are only possible if you allow for the , shall we say un-Olympian proportions for our heroes! I would even pay extra for this, possibly make it a body type unlock? With the adds going into the FTP, now seems like a good time to raise the debate.

This has been brought up before, to the point where someone even accused cryptic of discrimination against 'people like him', i.e. obese.

I am all for more options. I'd make a Blob style toon if I could. But as I recall, the models/skeletons currently in the game don't allow it, and would need to be reworked. Good idea, but low priority in my opinion.

Fat heroes were wanted for a while. I even would like the ability to make something other than an Adonis, a Supermodel, a Kid, a Hulk, or a Deformed Mutant with the costume creator. It's really hard to make anything other than those basic types (the "deformed mutant" look being minimum thickness arms, massive head, like one of those gray aliens.)

I made a "fat" hero for the beta, kind of an homage to Bouncing Boy. Maximum body mass, minimum arms/legs.

Yeah, but there's no overhang! I want my fat heroes to be morbidly obese, with an overhang that someone's large extended family could hide under on a rainy day!!!
