I know this has all probably been said, but its my turn now...not that I get listened to a lot but whatever. My current problem with CO would be the lack of content, and what of it there is mostly the sort of static quest you only want do so many times(usually 1). What really impressed me (at first) was that from the tutorial zones into the initial crysis zones, TIME advanced and I hoped that you would continue that aspect of it. Vibora bay being one of the best MMO areas Ive seen, its still just a static quest area that gets stale once you've done it a few times. And past that theres a very sad amount of end game for an MMO that should be a lot more relevant then it is.
CO's best hope, imho, would be to think of all its current content as the introdution to something way more super. Continue the time line! Looose the static standard MMO world lameness that limits EVERYTHING to the status of bad mutant WoW clone. Something like a world zone that exists after all the set events, with cities in it that players and SGs could adopt and see grow/develop/get destroyed. Champions don't always need tobe comic book heros, or villians for that matter. User generated content will probably be king in the next epic MMO devlopment. Ya, I know its sort of out there and in a few other MMO's I don't and won't play, but it would be great to see an MMO where your actions actually changed something and the mobs didn't just respawn.
CO shouldn't be loosing devs to other projects, its the same sort of slow bleed thats recently had a little outting of for WAR (a story I saw on slashdot). I know theres dedicated people still working on CO, but it really looks like CRYPTIC just isn't going to risk any large scale development on the level of an actual expansion pac. I still can't belive VB was someones idea of a paid x-pac. Even what given I've said about VB....cummon. VB is maybe on the scale of a 3 or 4 issue comic book arc. And using that as a ruler, for 15$ a month I dont think it would be unreasonable for people to expect get a comic book's worth of story, So if I give you 4 for BV and 1 for SL(and thats being VERY generious), and maybe 1 for bloodmoon and that phonned in anniversery event...your like 6 or 7 isssues behind. I forgot one but, honestly..I didnt even play the Christmas event, it looked kinda lame. Ya, I'm a lifetimer and I'm not paying anymore..but I'm also not playing anymore and didn't for a months before and feeling am litttle gyped about it.
The problem here being the corperate studio thats looking like its just doing EA's failbait MMO plan, without EA's inexplicable cash printing ability. Earn a little cash, counrty curb dump that step-child, hope people just forget about it, get a new one. CO should be on into another level of fullscale develpoment by now if Cryptic was any bit serious about the biz, instead we have a second cookie cutter theme MMO with a tird on the way. You guys are gunna need foodstamps for feed all these MMOs your popping out. Get the tubes tied please, for the sake of the overcrowed planet. I will NEVER buy another MMO with EA's name anywhere on it after playing WAR and seeing whats happenning there, and it looks like Cryptic is making that list.
And there is a even whole lot that could/should be done with this MMO as it is, the forum is litttered with great ideas and little things that could be done. My favorite would be just dumping the powersets idea and going with customizable powers to go with the costumes. I hear the PnP has a great sytem for that even. Something where you peice together stuff like you do with the costumes would be great. The world may need a champion, but the champion thinks you need to think more super with your world design.
Oh and, Swing sword is still not a super power.

You lost me at ...not playing anymore.
Aside from restating what are in countless threads already, is there anything new to say?
Making changes to the core of the game isn't going to happen. It would take far to much money and resources to accomplish from a game that frankly dosen't have the subscriber base to justify.

I know I'm .. I won't say "Holding out" but at least looking forward to the user generated content tools that are being developed for the game engine.
We know Neverwinter will rely heavily on this and I think it could be a breath of fresh air in the Champions game as well.
I for one intend to put a lot of effort into my mission packs because as a writer there's a lot of neat stories that can be told within this game.
I know players tend to complain about it being a cop out because devs should be making the content, not the customers, but I also think that if enough quality user content gets made, we could see it adopted into the official game at some point. I think we should *strive* for it.
If in 2 years we have tons of vetted and tested user adventure packs being migrated into the 'official game' there will be a lot of stuff for people to do and we could see a surge in subscribers.
I'm not just talking about door farming missions either -- I'm talking real missions with stories and cutscenes and chains of missions that lead to a story conclusion.
Done properly, this sort of 'open source' content generation could be both unique and a boon to the game itself.

Meh, I read through it...
And there are some good points...and some really stupid ones.
The low poitn for me is where he suggests that powers should be tied to costumes...which I assume means that I'll have a narrow band of costumes my guy can wear without him being screwed up. Goodbye Zombie Poolstroke...
Oh, and mostly yeah...We've heard it all before. Content, content, content. The Devs know this, the Devs are addressing it.
Heck, he's even complaining about Vibora Bay as a paid Expansion than thats an idea that got tossed out what? Six monthes ago?
Not to mention that the 1 year party is in my top tier for game fun, hands down. It was awesome, and other than some communication problems, was exceptionally well done. We need more content like that ;P

Could I please borrow the unique costume pieces of the Lifetimers that don't play any more? That would be sweet.

(I shouldn't make a wall of text when half asleep and bored, seams hard to read.)

No, I didnt suggest that, I suggested a power creator thats someling like the costume creator, in that you assumble peice of powers to make something personal.
>Oh, and mostly yeah...We've heard it all before. Content, content, content. The Devs know this, the Devs are addressing it.
Content should be a lot easier then it seams tobe..I mean how many people even know about the Champions universe and I hear theres all sort of books for it full of stories.
>Heck, he's even complaining about Vibora Bay as a paid Expansion than thats an idea that got tossed out >what? Six monthes ago?
*sigh* No,again, I was saying that was a horrid idea for that to ave ever been thought of as a piad expansion because it added so little to the game. Expansions should add some sort of new functionality or its just a cash out.

Your kidding right? The Destroirod thing was recycled from the end of beta event, and most of the costume peices are jsut edits of current ones. The dance object had its amussing uses...but the rest was just kinda meh..except for the fact more people came back. Freeplay does tend to increase the playerbase *cough*, and thats coming from a lifer thats paid up. More events like that would be great, but something more along the line of Bloodmoon where its more epic.
